FWIW, a tube of Blistex works as a perfect tool to lock a gas pump handle. I happen to carry one with me at all times, so use it at the gas station a lot.

A big driver for me going to Superstore to fill up in the winter was they had the locks. And a bonus is extra points. But I do not want to stand outside in -20 holding a frozen metal handle for a few minutes.

If you get back inside your vehicle, make sure once you step out, you touch your vehicle before reaching for the gas pump.

When you pull the fuelling nozzle off the pump you’ve grounded yourself (no more static charge). When you slide in and out of your vehicle you’re statically charged again and need to ground yourself. Static can ignite the fumes when you grab the nozzle.

Like so:

I hope it goes without saying.... if this happens don’t pull the nozzle out like she did. Hit the emergency stop and leave it in.

College football season starts this weekend. Even though I will miss all the games thanks to being out of town and also not being able to get ESPN up here I'm still super stoked.

Blame TSN. AFAIK they own the rights but would rather show tennis on 5 channels than pick up the marquee ESPN games.

I’ve emailed them several times asking what the deal is and why they don’t pick up more games but they never respond.

That's why everyone should just drive a diesel! Half the time in the winter I dont even shut it off at the pump

I bought a waffle maker. Even when they are plain, fresh waffles are delicious.

This waffle maker makes bowl shaped waffles. I'm excited to add toppings to future waffles and take advantage of the unique shape of the waffles.

Yup, waffle makers are awesome. One if my favourite things is putting thawed, shredded hashbrowns in there and making a crispy, hashbrown waffle. Load it up with cheese, eggs, etc. It's such a great treat.

Not inspired by the Simpsons but a friend of mine used to use a grilled cheese machine to make the most delicious dessert sandwiches.

Take some nice white or French bread, butter the outsides, put some delicious cherry pie filling in it (instead of cheese) and put it in the grilled cheese machine.

Top it with some cake frosting or cream cheese frosting. It was so damn delicious. It was like a low rent homemade cake.

Have to use this kind of grilled cheese machine so it seals in the pie filling.

Intermittent fasting is awesome. I'm down 38 lb and I really don't feel like I'm on a diet. I can still have the occasional pizza or you know steak, or fast food thing whatever. If I have a really bad day of food and goal baller on some really awful fast food or something, I can just get right back on track the next day.

My new doctor is really amazing and I don't think a lot of older doctors would talk about intermittent fasting. So I guess what makes me happy is that I finally got a family doctor in Calgary, and he's a younger guy who's not married to old ideas about nutrition.
