Burt Reynolds dies
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/ne...edium=referral
He looked unwell in recent public sightings, but he was also 82 so maybe just old? Loved Smokey and the Bandit as a kid. We all wanted to drive a rig or a black Trans-Am. RIP Burt.

That guy must have had one hell of a life. Even when he was pretty old he was still great in My Name is Earl, he was on Fast n Loud a couple of years ago when they tracked him down to sign a glove compartment door off a Bandit car, he looked pretty frail there. RIP Burt.

Surprised at how old he was. He was box office gold in the 70s.
Loved his Smokey and the Bandit movies. However it all seemed to fall apart from Best Little Whorehouse in Texas onwards.
RIP

I'm surprised it took this long, I remember seeing him in a movie with Demi Moore being a stripper(I think) that seemed like 20 years ago now, and I remember thinking how old he looked then.

I loved the Smokey and the Bandit movies when I was a kid, and of course Deliverance is a classic.
I recently watched a 2017 movie called The Last Movie Star, where he plays an aging celebrity who gets invited to a low-rent film festival in Nashville that plans to honor him with a lifetime achievement award. The movie isn't that great overall, but his performance is awesome and they have a lot of fun playing up Burt's real-life image and filmography.

Boogie Nights is still his best performance though.

Norm!
Burt was just an icon in the 70's. He was also the king of cornball, especially in the Cannon Ball Run movies which were fun.
With all due respect to LAFlamesFan, Burt made Mystery Alaska really shine, it was unusual seeing him play the understated dignified character.
That scene in the courtroom, when he casts aside the verdict and basically tells the town that they've embarrassed him was so well done.
RIP
