New Host for Flames Broadcasts
With Millions going into politics that leaves an opening at Rogers Sportsnet for a Flames host. They have posted the job opening so it is time to dust off the old resume. https://jobs.rogers.com/job/Calgary-...2R4/484562000/
I wonder who it will be?

I thought that was Ryan Leslie's job.

Wait they actually have a job posting and aren't giving the position to Ryan Leslie / Harnarayan Singh?

Might as well apply; I hate my job.

Singh seems like the logical choice. Maybe the job posting is just a formality for the process to be completed.

Eric Francis can do it, can't be that hard.

They probably are hiring internally, process most likely requires an external posting.

Typical practice, so my guess exactly. Plus they would be smart to at least do the very minimal due diligence.
I think this is either Leslie's/Singh's job to lose.

I think she left broadcasting and went to work for the Sask Party.
Personally I think we steal Gene Principe and hire Hulk Hogan as his partner.
Principe - Stupid pun with a wig on, stunned look on his face.
Hogan - "Well let me tell you something Mean Gene . . . . "

Guarantee that posting the job is a company requirement, even if they already know who gets it.
I like both Leslie and Singh, so we're good either way. Prefer to see Singh get a bigger role in any event. He's passionate and talented.

Millions and Leslie split last season right? With Singh doing the occasional HNIC broadcast I believe.
Safe to bet it'll be Leslie and Singh splitting, if Leslie isn't taking the fulltime duties. Both are great so hopefully that's what happens.

He's working on his resume!
(It'd be an epic trainwreck, but still better than Gene Principe)

That's the quality that's so charming. You can tell he just loves his job while at the same time being totally in his element.
I'm cool with a Leslie/Singh split.

Manitoba govt
Pallister hires sports broadcaster Leah Hextall
Quote:
A former television sports broadcaster has joined the Manitoba government as a political staffer.
Leah Hextall, once employed by CTV Winnipeg before taking on high-profile roles with Rogers Sportsnet and ESPN, was appointed to the position of creative communications specialist effective Nov. 13.
According to a Nov. 22 cabinet order released Wednesday, Hextall will receive a starting salary of $77,695.
Hextall played a prominent role at the Manitoba Progressive Conservative party's annual general meeting in Winnipeg early this month. At the event, she asked friendly questions of Premier Brian Pallister in a session dubbed a "fireside chat."
