I never once said the city should cancel it...I said the combination of not making it 18+ and opening it to the public was asking for trouble. Check

Anyway I think it's time for some of you to move on with your lives. Take your own advice and don't get so bent outta shape about an event you weren't going to anyway.

I think the worst part about this is that Edmonton can host an all ages swim without their populace throwing their toys.

It is interesting to note that with that swim, swimmers must produce ID (the information is taken down) and a birth certificate for those under 18.

Come on people of Calgary.

Officials with Calgary Nude Recreation say the group has met the criteria outlined by the City of Calgary for hosting their private nude events and the next naked swim has been scheduled for February 11 at an undisclosed location.

The group announced the changes in a statement posted on Meetup.

As per their agreement with the City, Calgary Nude Recreation says it will promote its events as family-friendly and all minors in attendance must be under the direct supervision of a parent. The guardians must present their dependent's birth certificate when they enter the event or they will be refused entry.

In addition to the admission fee for each event, the organization will require every adult in attendance to purchase an annual membership for $10 prior to the event and to present identification that matches the name on their membership when they check-in.

The controversial naked family swim planned by Calgary Nude Recreation went ahead Sunday.

City administration put the kibosh on the original swim, planned for Jan. 14, because of security concerns, amid massive public backlash.

Only members could attend, and strict ID requirements for adults and children were put in place.

The event officially took place at an undisclosed location, but chit-chat on social media -- and the presence of a small group of protesters -- indicate that it took place at the Southland Leisure Centre, as the original event was suppsoed to.

Not many people have/had issues with these events when some common sense is used

That shouldn't be a requirement for this event to go on. You don't need those are public nude beaches in Canadian cities.

Charge laid in relation to threat on naturist swim event

The #Calgary Police Service has charged a woman in connection with a threat on a naturist swim event.

On Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, police received a report of a threat to the Southland Leisure Centre in relation to a naturist swim event planned for the following weekend. Following a risk assessment that took into consideration the threat, a decision was made by Calgary Recreation to cancel the event.

Police initiated an investigation into the threat and issued warrants for the woman.

On Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, Ponoka RCMP arrested Arie Christine GUTHRIE, 26, of Ponoka. GUTHRIE is charged with one count of uttering threats. She will next appear in court on Friday, April 6, 2018.

“We take any threat of this nature very seriously,” said Centralized General Investigative Unit Acting Staff Sergeant Scott McCann. “We conducted a thorough investigation in order to lay this charge and we appreciate the RCMP’s assistance with this file.”

This is, by far, the greatest thing to come out of all of this. Some keyboard (or phone in this case) warrior takes exception to the event and for reasons beyond my comprehension, threatens peoples lives over it. And gets busted.
