Sad to hear, Fuzz. 21 is a fantastic amount of time with a pet, you were very lucky.

Hate to be the one that bumps this thread, but my 9 year old pug had the rough vet visit this afternoon. Lots of tears and rum tonight, cheers to those that shared their thoughts and memories in this thread...

So sorry to hear about your loss. I recently hit the anniversary of having to put my pug down (thanks for the reminder Facebook), and I still feel devastated from losing him.

ah man... I didn't know he passed away, not surprised I guess though, it's been a long time- he would have been up there in age. Sorry to hear that. Wasn't he the guy that loved green beans or something?

Hahah, yup. At one point our vet suggested giving him green beans as part of his diet. I can't remember if it was for his teeth or his bowels.
Either way, he was an insatiable garbage disposal on a never ending quest for people food.

Damn. I'm sorry to hear that.
I've got 2 pugs that are getting up there in age. It won't be long for them as well.
Pugs are the greatest. Really sad to see the post St. Troy

Just booked an appointment with Paws to Rest to put my 6.5 year old Yellow Lab to rest.
Lymphoma. First about 2 years ago, fought it off with chemo and came back about two months ago.
Given how much the chemo lowered his quality of life coupled with the fact that it is MUCH harder to beat it the second time, we decided to skip chemo this time.
He's been such a great dog, never asked anything of us (except treats!)
Cancer is no good.
