If you squint really really hard you could make a hockey case (which I disagree with).
But it makes no sense financially especially on a 1-1 basis. Nothing we've seen about Treliving supports that, though there's obviously a first time for everything.

Wasn't there rumors of Neal and Peters not getting along? Wonder if this forced Calgary's hand.

If they retain 50% making Lucic a $3M player, plus he waives his NMC going forward, plus the pick is a 1st. Then maybe. But still....
