Mckinney replaces Galvis.

Come on, seriously?

Yeah weird move.

Billy Vanilli sucks. All hustle, nothing else.

Would've rather called up Urena to replace Galvis.

The Jays had a 2 man bench all weekend, they needed someone who can play OF.

I'm confident that Urena can play in the OF almost as well as Mckinney can do that, and he can play a better OF than Vanilli can play as an IF.

Man this offense seems like it has a chance to be legitimately good. It'll be interesting to see if Atkins can scrounge up some pitching for next season.

I personally don't think management will spend this off-season yet. I think Rogers has been a pretty decent owner when you think about it - who pays that much money to not have players play for you? Aside from the Yankees, I don't think another team would do such a thing. Regardless, I think right now they're in money saving mode, while development takes place, to pour some money into a major Rogers Centre renovation. Seems to be a big undertaking where now they're having preliminary talks. Could be a renovation (my guess), or a complete new stadium in Ontario place (not likely IMO as the transit would be an issue). Anyway, onto baseball.

I agree with most of this.

I do think the rest of the season will dictate how hard the Jays management goes after big ticket pitching.

The offense looks legit. Many of these young players have come out like gangbusters or improved greatly with adjustments. If they keep that up for the next month and a half I doubt Shapiro, Atkins or Rogers will want to waste a season of the Vlad and Bo era on a rotation in shambles.

I could see them gunning for a front end starter and using prospect capital to secure amother in a trade.

I know it's early but Bichette is an incredible hitter. 4-for-5, comfortably above .400.

It this a guy who could bat like .333 for this career and win multiple batting titles?

This Jays line up has legitimate HR power from top to bottom. Other than Smoak they are all 27 or younger.

19 runs off of 21 hits tonight with 4 homers.

Only Roughned Odor would pimp a 17-3 homerun. What a sack of ####. I’d be embarrassed if I was his teammates.

Teo since coming back has a 135 WRC+
Gurriel since coming back has a 142 WRC+
Jansen since mid June has a 126 WRC+
Drury since the start of July has a 128 WRC+
Vlad since the all star break has a 149 WRC+
Bo has a small sample size but he looks legit.
Biggio and Grichuk holding their own too.

Pretty exciting

Well he won a batting title as a 19 year old in high A so I certainly wouldn't put it past him.

Ya Drury is really showing some signs of having a heartbeat out there. What I want to see is all three of Grichuk, Drury and Hernández is they each have an OPS+ (Which is basically the same as Wrc +) over 100.

I tune in most nights. Tonight I’m really watching to see if Odor gets plunked.

I’ll take a K to strand the bases loaded for now. But please someone hit those pubes off his face later.

Another dubya for the Jays.

3 solo homers from grichuk, teo and mckinney.

9 shut out innings from 5 Jays pitchers.

I like second half Grichuk. He’s pretty much Mike Trout.

The thought of 100 losses is a distant memory now. 70 wins might be on the radar. What a fun turnaround.

Day game reminder. Starts in about 20 minutes as the Jays go for the sweep.

Interested to see if Tellez has a better approach and can keep it.

If he could get on base more and play better D at 1st he could be an actual piece going forward.

I'm not optimistic with him but he's only 23 so you never know I guess.

Of course, if Vlad ends up at 1st its a nearly pointless discussion anyways.
