One of my biggest pet peeves watching baseball is when pitchers walk guys.

Throw ####ing strikes you dummies.

Nice work by Boshers after that complete mess of a performance from Mayza and Law.

I had to miss Romano pitching, he had two K's I see, but how was his velocity? Was he hitting 98 MPH?

Almost time for September call ups

Really hope to see lots of Alford.

I think Kay might be getting called up, put on the 40 man and starting tomorrow? Sure hope so.

Giles has incredible stuff but he might not have the mental game to close for a contender. He really melted down in Houston.

Either Buck or Pat was talking about Kay and Zeuch getting called up. Kays numbers were pretty great over his last three or so starts with the Bisons.

Edisson Gonzalez and Curtis Taylor are the two pitchers acquired from Tampa in the Sogard trade.

Both of them have high strike out numbers.

Nobody else watching?

0-0 going to top of 9, and Verlander still has the no-no intact.

Just a combination of the Jays being awful and Verlander being exceptional.

A no-hitter/perfect game are truly one of a kind events in sports. It seems to transcend winning or losing and becomes a spectacle in itself. It seems to be the perfect combination of skill, stamina, and most importantly luck. Obviously the greats in the game(Verlander, Halladay, Ryan, etc...) set themselves apart with tremendous skill that allows them to achieve the feat multiple times. But when you start to think about all the details that go into a perfect outing it’s pretty impressive. Everything can hinder your opportunity for perfection. A couple missed calls by the umps forcing you into hitters counts and sitting on the fastball. A wacky swing with minimal contact allowing the ball to fall into no mans land(Bergman in the 9th for example). Defensive shifts and missed assignments. The ability to overcome pitch counts in an ever increasingly strict environment. So many minor elements that add up to seemingly insurmountable odds. I think that’s why it’s hard to be upset when your team gets no hit. Because in reality it’s a pretty cool event. As much as I was cheering for Bichette to rip a double in the gap with 2 out in the 9th, I was hoping Verlander would get the K and watch something memorable.

Jays lose. I’m fully on board tank nation now. Lose every game and get a top 3 pick.
