Ongoing local news thread

I normally hate "ongoing threads", but I stopped local news subscription last year and simply don't have the dedication to keep on local news on social media.

I figured a thread for major local news might be of value to some here, as I'll often just hear about a murder or major local story second hand, and there never seems to be threads here about local news.

I've even downloaded a couple local apps for news and simply don't check them enough, where as CP is daily for me.
