Keep an eye on TheCameraStore website for Black Friday specials. A couple years ago I picked up a D7200 for $1100 (which was a steal at the time). Also, if you like cropped sensor, take a look at the Nikon Z50, it seems to have some decent reviews (I upgraded to a Z6 and really like the features mirrorless brings)

Wow, $995US for a brand new D750 - now this IS a good deal!..

I wonder if Nikon Canada matches the sale as well tomorrow.

Damn it Captain... I want this sooo bad, but I just bought a D500 a couple months ago. If I thought that was hard convincing the other half it was necessary, imagine this arriving at the door.

Help!

If my wife finds the true cost of my photo stuff, I'd be murdered most likely.

I've seen so many coyotes around lately, but never have my camera when I see them close enough to shoot. So yesterday I set out with intentions of finding one hunting. I saw a lot, but they're very shy up close and bugger right off as soon as you stop. I managed to finally get relatively close enough to one, but the light was getting pretty dim. He gave me a fighting chance at least.

There was some nice sunrise and sunset colors but it was too cold, for me at least to set up a tripod. I shot a few hand held though.
Just some random shots around town and area.

Through the windshield!

Sun trying to burn through the frigid fog

My daughter asked why there was a kangaroo with the deer? .

I salvaged a bad hand held in lightroom...

..and one of Calgary's hidden gems, the beautiful Shepherd sewage treatment plant.

Thanks, not easy to find this time of year. One benefit though, it's practically golden hour all day long with the sun being so low.

Our office organized a photo safari at work last Thursday out at Bragg Creek Provincial Park. We were only allowed to use our smart phone camera and whatever filters were included with the camera. Third party apps weren't allowed. I figured everyone would take the same pictures (I was right) so I took a different tack creativity-wise and brought along some props.

The result was GI Joe on Patrol...

...and Bragg Creek Rally

When the dog steps on the power lock with the keys inside and all you have is a camera...

Went hiking today and came across the aftermath of a controlled burn. Haven’t had a chance to edit the camera shots but I took a couple on my
phone. The sky was black and ready to rain. Can’t wait to go back next week as the burn reveals the trunks of the saw palmettos- so sculptural.

With all the storms and crazy weather there's been tons of opportunities for storm shots this year. Unfortunately I haven't had the time to get out much. I did manage to get a few yesterday after work though. All taken just east of town.

Amazing shots!

These views are honestly what I miss most about living in Alberta.

Edit: Last one is now my computer wallpaper.

Thanks.

My wife who's from Van. Island posted these to her FB. Her friends there who've lived here or visit, all said the same kind of things. They miss our ever so dynamic skies the most.
