lol well honestly there are always two, usually its just Red for full stop, play stops, ropes are cut, you immediately end the situation and take care of the sub. This is incredibly rare, I honestly don't know any people who have ever had it used, because no good Dom, Master or Top will ever have this happen unless they pushed or rushed things without truly getting to know their partner.
Yellow is the most commonly used if ever used, it is simply stopped, need to say something, maybe untie me, etc.. Often its something like being uncomfortable to a degree that its ruining the headspace of the person, or as happens they might feel sick, unwell, its a polite way of just calmly ending or pausing the scene.
I am genuinely curious what type of personality gets into this kind of thing.

There really is no type tbh, I think at least among the real Dom's is often a high intellect, BDSM is 95% mental energy, 5% performance. The head of our BDSM society is an amazing woman, very bright, confident, and a full-on 24/7 slave, with an awesome guy who is her Master. These, by the way, are quite rare, they require a level of commitment and effort most couldn't handle.
Kinks are as diverse and complex as the people who have them, there is certainly one thing that I've noticed over the years that people active in the community are very caring, very very open, and by far some of the most interesting people I know are in this community. Also never seen a community more accepting of people of all body types, its welcoming to everyone as long as you respect the rules of the community.
Imagine the kinds of conversations you can have when there is never shame for what you talk about, no judgment, just acceptance. Its a kinship, unlike any I have experienced.
It really doesn't matter, just how much you use, unless the person has issues with silicon base stuff, just lots and lots for the one hole, you can guess...

50 Shades is pretty much an example of what is not acceptable, he basically stalked her, coerced her, manipulated her into a Master slave relationship which is the opposite of what the community accepts.
I think there are scenes here and there that are fine, but what Hollywood never really goes into is the consent side, the agreements made before hand, boundries set, and all the getting to know the person before you take it to that step.
I will say though, The Secretary with Spader and Maggie is a fantastic peak at the Master slave dynamic building up, slowly, and is quite good. It shows how even as a very submissive woman Maggie pushed him into dominating her, a beautiful example of building consent, trust and ultimately her full submission in the end.
Also I love Lucy Lawless, but don't remember that movie, will have to watch it again now that you bring that part up.

Do you consider it a hobby or a lifestyle? How much $ have you invested in it? Have you made any $ off of it?
Lifestyle, not 24/7 at all though. But there is one woman who I see as potentially right for me to live with and be at least as much as we can handle, she has kids so life takes priority.
No never made any money, not sure how you would lol.
I've spent far too much money, I would hate to even guess how much over the years.
