Tampa is a whole other beast than any other team and should still be considered the favourite even with a game to go.

Context.
Meh. Allen's stats are nearly identical and his SV% was better. I could make a case the Habs would have won less than the 35 projected over 82 games as they only won 7 of their last 20 games going into the playoffs and if the season was five games longer would have likely finished behind the Flames.

Besides the Flames in 2004 won 42 games with Kipper only playing 39/82 which was the comparison so I'm not clear on what the context of Price missing games matters in a comparison of the two teams when Kipper wasn't around for half the 2004 Flames season.

Also good thing they limited attendance inside the arena.

Like just let in full capacity if your going to allow this in the streets.

K. I'm doing being salty now. Go Bolts!! For the love of God.

####ing assclowns!! Why can’t some cities fans enjoy winning without destroying things? With iPhone videos and stuff these days anyone identified taking part should go to jail for a year!!

To be clear, I hate tbe Montréal Canadiens just as I hate every other Canadian NHL team. But if there is another that has to win a Stanley Cup, then it somehow seems fitting that this is the team to do it in this bizarre season. The Canadiens are historically on another level from every other team possibly in all of North American professional sports. They are most obviously the Hockey Gods's favourites even after a century of existence.

I can be at peace if they win, but I sure as hell hope it is NYI in the end.

I’ve always liked Montreal because of the vast amount of Leaf fans I know. I despise the Leafs as much as the Oilers. They’re the only other Canadian team I like.

I’m loving all of this right now, living in Ontario. I’d buy a car flag but my wife would leave me.

Can't help thinking that the turning point of the series was the Fleury mistake in game 3
Congrats to the Habs

Win or lose, I did predict Montreal riots after the cup finals. Think yesterday night's just a precursor of things to come. That's just what Montrealers do. And in all honestly, I'm morbidly curious about it. Hope it's just as entertaining as the 2011 Vancouver riots.

You want a real eye opener?

Go read the Subban/Weber trade thread, and that was 5 years ago.

Even Habby was trippin out.

The NHL needs to look at taking away any Rioting hockey teams 1st round draft pick.

These riots are not good publicity for the NHL brand.

This is what happens when you are locked indoors for practically over a year and then allow large gatherings.

How is anyone surprised this happened? 100% chance if it was Calgary a similar group of people would partake in this behavior.

NHL is irrelevant here. It happens at other North American cities too. Don't know why some do it, while others don't.

Growing up in small town NFLD you were either a Habs / Leafs fan for the majority.

I moved west and became a Flames fan before / during the Cup run in 04.

My dad still bleeds red and blue.

In his 75 year...just hearing the glee in his voice when we talk about the habs is enough for me to jump back on board.

Go Habs Go !!!

Uhh, 2004? We've been there and we didn't riot. We cheered for boobies and high fived cops.

As another poster mentioned, some cities are just more prone to this type of violence. Boston, Philly, Montreal, Vancouver etc. You think there were riots in Anaheim or Tampa when they won? I don't recall St Louis rioting and that is known as a rough town. Same with Chicago. What about other sports? Bucs fans didn't riot. There were no riots when the Raptors won I don' think.
