Build Your Flames Roster of the 21st Century
When we’ve put together all-time rosters before it’s been primarily made up of players from the 80’s heydays.
What is your 21st century Flames roster?
If this has been done before I apologize..

Tanguay-Lindholm-Cammalleri
Huselius-Langkow-Hudler
Tkachuk-Conroy-Bertuzzi
Gio-Brodie
Regehr-Hamilton

Gaudreau - Monahan - Iginla
Huselius - Lindholm - Cammalleri
Tanguay - Conroy - Tkachuk
Glencross - Yelle - Lombardi
Gio-Brodie
Regehr-Hamilton
Bouwmeeste/Phanuef-Hamrlik
Kipprusoff
Rittich
thought your list was fine, just swapped Huselius over tanguay on the depth chart, and replaced some of the bottom line forwards, to add a bit more rounded roster. Yelle over langkow as a defensive/faceoff/pk specialist, and adding in Lombardi as his wheels on the bottom lines/pk would be great in today's game.
Also replaced Andersson with Hamrlik, and his partner could be Phaneuf (who made a solid tandem) or Bouwmeester (generally a better dman).

I tried to make lines I'd like to see together, it's not necessarily the best available players

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Brian McGrattan, by far the Flames' best enforcer of the millennium so far. Lucic would be his backup.

I wanted McGrattan in there, he would be one of my extras for sure.
Loved that guy!

Good thread idea!!!
Tkachuk-Lindholm-Iginla
(top line, can match against others and dominate on both ends of the ice)
Gaudreau-Monahan-Cammalleri
(pure scoring line)
Langkow-Backlund-Gelinas
(pure matching line that can dominate possession and move the puck up ice against other top lines)
Yelle-Conroy-Hathaway
(checking line)
(Hudler-Tanguay)
(extras who can score but lack heart)
Gio-Brodie
Regehr-Hamilton
Phaneuf-Andersson
(Hamrlik)
(no place for Bouw, unless you want to remove Phaneuf who was dominant for a few years)
Kiprusoff
Rittich

Lucic can't even give a dirty look to an Oiler. How can he be considered a top enforcer? He has four fights in his career as a Flame.
Oliwa would be my pick. He got the job done.

What in the world did Hamilton and Bouwmeester contribute to get consideration over:
Wideman and Russell
Engelland
Warrener
Ferrence
Does winning not count for anything?
Bouwmeester no playoff games... Hamilton 4 playoff games 1 assist no wins.

One playoff win since 2004. Four this century. Too heartbreaking to consider.

Chris Clark needs a spot in the lineup. Excellent 2 way forward.

We’re not talking about golfing or bowling. Hockey is a team sport.

Gaudreau - Lindholm - Iginla
Tanguay - Monahan - Tkachuk
Huselius - Langkow - Cammalleri
Gelinas - Backlund - Bertuzzi
(Hudler, Mcgrattan, Glencross)
Giordano - Brodie
Phaneuf - Bouwmeester
Regehr - Hamilton
(Hamrlik)
Kipper
Rittich
Other than Iggy and Lindholm, there is a serious lack of RHS forwards to consider for this.
