Don't believe so. He's still firmly #10 on the depth chart given his injury concerns and the expansion draft.

Valimaki, eh? I think it would be great if he is on the taxi squad while (hopefully) retaining an exempt status from the expansion draft.

Maybe, although I think Froese actually has a pretty good chance of making it to Edmonton. Flames brass has talked about how they wanted to call him up during the season but couldn't find the right opportunity to do so.

He was excellent in Stockton and has over 100 games of NHL experience, I have no problem with him being added. This was also the best pro-season of his career.

Valimaki hasn't played in a YEAR. And he has a grand total of 24 NHL games.
Yes, he is a great prospect, but even without the exemption issue, he is not going to be in the top 8 right now. WITH the exemption issue, the only way that he sees a game is if half the D core is in the infirmary. Even then he'll be the last option.

So if i understand correctly, they can take 31 guys.
That means 4 guys from above will not be going to Edmonton.
I would assume Valimaki and Mackey are automatics not to go.
One of eithet Zagadulin and Gillies is another.
So one of those forwards will not be making the trip unless they go with 4 G's which i doubt.
One of Phillips, Gawdin, Ruzicka, and Froese will probably be the last guy cut up front then?

I don't think you and the coaching staff are too far off. Czarnik being the biggest stretch. Dube on the 3rd line is also pushing it.

Dube was already playing on the 3rd line consistently, and rightly so.

Sounds like he and Mackey are both participating in camp (Phase 3).
Mackey isn't eligible to play (Phase 4).

Of all the Stockton guys im really hoping Gawdin or Froese show well....could use his size and RH shot over the Czarnik/Quine/Phillips types. Also natural C's which always helps if someone gets tossed from a the dot.
