Is it less of a disaster than the last one? Because the awesome trailers and previews tricked me into buying that one. I've been holding off on this one even though I like the concept and it again looks good.
I actually really enjoyed the last one but I think I'll put this one off for a little while. It's pretty rare that I'll go for a yearly release series type game and Assassins Creed just doesn't scream out to me as a game I must buy every year.
Awesome dude, that's my favourite non-sports series not named GTA. Speaking of which, the release of V totally took my attention away from AC IV, I was all over the development of III. Kinda forgot about this one because of it. I also enjoyed III, I just hope they put ambient music back in, and eliminated all the QTE's & hand-holding III had. Still can't believe there was no ambient music in free roam, that's one of the staples of the series.
I'll definitely be getting IV, but it won't be a day-of purchase due to not even being done GTA V yet. Planning on cracking out on AC IV over Jesusmas. Love how much naval is in it, that was my favourite part of III.

Love this series and it is in the mail and should be waiting for me when I get home. The only problem is that so is the new Batman game. I took Thursday off just to play these two games. I can't wait.
It took me awhile to get into these games. I just didn't like the feel of the controls. Mind you, I am not a huge gamer like some on here so it probably takes me a little longer to adapt to the different controls each game has. I got Assassins Creed 2 for years before returning to play it and finishing it.
I SUCK at the new configuration for EA Sports NHL games since they changed the play.
Was that ever even announced as being a possible next gen title? I've never heard of that.
Yep, they cancelled it because they wanted to focus all their time on the current gen version. It was one of the "3 for $40 each" games I pre-ordered during Futureshop's E3 promo.
You probably don't have to play those. I played 3 for about an hour then got bored and quit, but I still plan on getting 4.
I figured that but I picked up Revelations for $5 during the Steam summer sale. Not really all that interested in playing 3 to be honest but Black Flag looks neat.
Well wasn't planning on getting this until Christmas because of GTA V, but that ridiculous deal over the weekend changed that.. Extremely early in this game, but so far I'm really enjoying it. For those who loved 2 but hated 3, you may wanna check this one out. Its totally got that AC2 vibe, supplemented by the superior parkour and combat of 3, which is a solid mix. Even the buildings remind me of 2. And thank jebus they brought back ambient music in free roam, what were the devs smoking in 3 to remove that.
So far my only minor concern is the rooftop combat seems really easy again. Let's face it, easier combat is always gonna be an element in this series, but in 3 I liked how it was more challenging on rooftops. It persuaded you to either avoid combat up there, or be stealthy about it. So far I'm finding you don't really need strategy up there anymore, just murder some dude and continue on unscathed.
...then again, I'm only about 3hrs into this game (mostly free roaming) so maybe it gets harder as you progress and get to other cities, as I've read combat is a lot harder in this one. Over-all it's been a lot of fun so far though. Can't wait to get to the naval missions, that was my favourite part of 3.
I just started playing this as well due to the Future Shop deal. Only about an hour in, but definitely better than 3. AC3 seemed to take forever to be engaging (i think it was after sequence 6) but from the get-go its been pretty fun.

I actually enjoyed the first 6 parts of AC3 far more than the following stuff with Connor. Such a lame character
