Well you would start googling each persons name and see if they are tied to an industry or company you are concerned with pedaling influence. If it clearly labeled the amount it would make the process easier as you could shorten the list to just high values.

If I resigned in disgrace from a political role I probably wouldn't subsequently seek election for a different one.

He will get smoked. The few votes he takes will be from Gondek.

Hehr dropped out of the race the last time he ran (when Nenshi first won). I'm guessing if he doesn't poll well he'll do so again to avoid splitting the progressives.

The election is in 45 days. Is there time to give it a shot and then give up before then?

On lawn signs front, I am starting to notice a lot of houses now with multiple Ward 3 candidates displayed. The common theme with all of them is the 2nd sign is always one of Sharma Kumar’s. Is this normal? Seems kind of weird, but maybe some people let whoever ask.

What would be the purpose? Isn’t it a waste of time to wade in to this now?

Voted for Kodos

I don’t understand who Hehr thinks he’s going to get votes from.

Yeah, I think its very late to enter, but if you thought it was worth entering presumably you wouldn't give up between now and election day - it's only 6 week away.

I haven't noticed it this time, but in previous elections, a lot of houses in my neighbourhood tend to have signs for multiple candidates. I always thought it was kind of weird. Sure, sometimes different household members would vote differently, but it was a lot of houses that did this. I figured it was people said yes to anyone who asked to put one up.

I voted for Hehr in every election in which he previously ran, both provincially and federally. Not this time. He's not going to win, but he may siphon off enough votes from Gondek an increase the likelihood of a Farkas victory. It's selfish and stupid that he would choose now to enter the race.

Hey Kent - you know how you can support women? Don't split votes from them.

Got his candidacy in right under the wire. Beat the deadline by a Kent Hehr if you will...

This is the most perplexing view to me. I guess the thought is that no men should run against women because we might take votes and a woman might not win? It's just weird.

I think it's more specific to Hehr who made a point to talk about advocating and raising up women in an attempt to get ahead of people bringing up his sexual harassment allegations.

Well I'm not even getting into that here, because we've been through that on this board before and it's a non-starter as a topic for me. But the truth is that you can both be in favour of helping advance the status of women and push for gender equality and also be a white male who runs for public office.

I'm just saying it was brought up for Hehr because he brought it up first. The same commentary wasn't made about the other candidates (that I've seen).
