Hanifin trade may go down right to the wire
https://www.tsn.ca/video/insider-tra...orward~2876402
Lebrun: As of Thursday nothing is close.
Complex situation.
Two teams that really covet Hanifin in Boston and Tampa don't have a 1st.
Hanifin has a modified NTC and won't go to certain teams.
Agent may need to get involved for an extension
May go down right to the wire on Friday.

He’s worth a 1st even as a rental

They have first in other years will just have to give a bit more now or go find a 1st.
That's what you get trading all your picks for freaking Tanner Jeannot b

They don't have 2024 1st round picks.
The Flames should not be afraid to get some 1st rounders in future years.
I'd actually argue they would be smart to get a 2025 or 2026 1st if possible

Conroy has handled his situation in a timely manner, really doubt the deal isn't done by Tuesday.

I don't really have a problem with Hanifin going down to the wire.
4/6 of the UFAs are gone. Kylington might stay.
That just leaves Hanifin for the deadline. It's not overwhelming for Conroy by any means. He can focus on the one deal and make sure it's the best deal possible.

He is going to go for something, even a 2nd
Unless that NTC is blocking it

Mentioned this in another thread, but what about to Bos for:
Poitras, Lohrei, conditional 1st (if BOS makes SCF) in future draft or 2024 2nd

Might stay? If he leaves for greener pastures after how we treated him, the flames should fold or move to Houston.

He would have been traded already for that
Words around since summer is Conroy is not getting offered enough for Hanifin
Whatever enough means.
I think he goes for rental similar to Tanev at the wire.
2nd + prospect + a conditional pick

As it should.
Squeeze your bidders for another lindholm-like return.
Tanev was more precarious with his rigorous playing style to potentially be injured. Hanifin is much more durable.
