Default Carls Jr coming to Calgary this summer

Being discussed in the fast food burger thread; however I figured this was worthy of it's own thread.

Hey #yyc burger lovers, Carls Jr. will open its first Calgary location near SAIT, likely by the summer. Restaurant designs are complete.

I assume that "near SAIT" means that open lot on 16th west of the Arby's.

I've had it in Edmonton the last time i was there, it was good but i felt it was overrated.

In the day and age where we have places like 5 guys, Fatburger, Smashburger... etc... I cant seem to be excited for anything less than the standard they've set

Probably not going to be constructed and opened in time for the summer. So I would suspect they're taking over an existing location. Maybe even the Arby's. Or the Money Mart that used to be a Taco Time.

There was one in Grande Prairie(First in Alberta!), the Canadian prices are quite high for Fast Food.

Looking at $11 for a meal.

I went to the one on Stoney Plain about a month ago and it wasn't at the same standard as the Carl's Ive had in the Okanagan. I don't know if they were still figuring things out or what but it was sub-par for sure. Stupid Edmonton.

we've got a couple of them in kelowna and i remember hearing lots of 'buzz' about them, so one evening my wife and i figured we'd try it out.

like Pizza stated - it was good, but nothing spectacular. i'd rather make stuffed burgers at home and invite some friends over for a fun evening

I had Carl's Jr in Vernon this summer. It's not as good as I remember it being in the states but not bad.

One interesting thing is they had a burger with no bun, rather the burger is in a lettuce head. Not sure if that is still around but apparently it's not bad.

Carl's Jr. was great in California in 1993. Don't remember anything else. But the prices sound atrocious, just like Chick-Fil-A here.

I'm not expecting it'll be as good as in the US, but I'll take it!

P.S. I get the love for In-and-Out, but Sonic? Had it once and was not impressed; drink menu looked neat but the food was pretty meh (at best) IMO.

I live in Kensington, so a 5 min drive up the hill to this proposed location. I hope you are all right, that it is not as good as he U.S. I don't need to be ordering the guac bacon burger every time I could. I'd probably be dead in a month.

I ordered this by mistake, it wasn't terrible but I wouldn't order it on purpose. Was messy.

LOL, I was in Dallas with a buddy from Aus and he loved Sonic. I refer to them as Generic Burger

Had it in vcr. Nothing too exciting, but I did get breakfast there when I was so hungover I could barely remember, that it was good, and dirt cheap.
