I think this next little bit will be as close as it gets to how it was in the 90s where a team like the Red Wings made out like bandits because they had better scouting reports on players a lot of other teams didn't outside of north america. I think teams the teams that have invested a lot of resources to scouting should have an advantage as they probably have complied info on players pre-draft year.
Will be interesting to look back at this and next years draft and see how teams did.
Saw Pronman had his lost today and Lundell who I have seen going 8-10 in some mocks is ranked 18 right before the Calgary pick. Would be nice if he slipped to us at 19

The Flames used to be one of these types of teams as well in the 80s. They invested more energy and time into scouting than others, and reaped the benefits.
These days, it's harder to find that edge, but Covid has definitely thrown a curveball into plans across the board. We'll look back at this draft 5 years from now and see some major steals.

My wet dream is Lundell slipping because people fear he's Lias Andersson.

The other factor is player development. Will there be enough time for these kids to play and continue to develop.
Found a video yesterday of a 1 game focus on Rodion Amirov. It is this season and shows all his shifts. Theres no scoring or points being scored but just hum playing the game. What I see is excellent vision, reading plays and his hustle to get to the right places to make good plays. You're looking for #27 in green:
I see a player physically ready for the NHL. But maybe a year away on the farm to climatize.
I posted earlier I wanted Seth Jarvis, Connor Zary, Dawson Mercer, Anton Lundell, Mavrik Bourque or Jack Quinn because they were the only forwards both Pronman and Wheeler had ranked between 9 and 18. I excluded the goalie and the 2 defencemen because I don't think there's a chance they fall.
Anyways, Bader has all those forwards ranked between 9 and 20. Jarvis is 9. Zary is 11. Mercer is 17. Lundell is 18. Bourque is 19. Quinn is 20.
This reinforces the fact that I want one of those 6.

The Flames have to pull off the mid to late round version of the Sedin heist!
Leo Lööf (D) Färjestad BK J20
Linus Lööf (C) Färjestad BK J20
Who doesn't want brothers with a last name that is fool backwards! Get it done!
If the Oilers choose this year for the pick in the Lucic-Neal trade to transfer, it might actually be easy. Trade pick 80 and pick number 99 to Tampa for picks 86 & 87
His NHLe-1 was nothing, but his NHLe-0 is up to 29 (HockeyProspecting.com). If we have a 3rd round pick come draft time, I'd take him. As is, I'll hope he's there at 96th. Future Considerations has him at 172nd.

Never seen him or even heard of him mentioned. But I thought it was funny that he is playing on the same KHL team as flames legend Jyrki Jokipakka, who has 7 points in 10 games from the back end. Late bloomer?

Ozzy Wiesblatt is a calgary boy, and his brothers who are all elite hockey players are named Orca, Ocean and Oasiz (potential 2022 draft). Some funky names
