Word is that Matthew Wood is leaving U Conn. Big loss as he is their top scorer. UConn and Sergeev could be in for a rough 24/25 season.

Interesting... I wonder where he is headed. Somewhere he can be the undisputed number one? He's just going into his Junior year.

Is school-hopping more common nowadays than in the past? Used to be a serious commitment to honour a scholarship.

Yes it is more common. The NCAA now attracts more top tier talent than ever and with that the you will see more players hop programs if they think it will improve their chances at the NHL.
It is becoming less about education, school, tradition, and the hockey program.

They also changed the transfer rules. It used to be that you had to sit out before transferring, but the rules were relaxed considerably.

not exactly a powerhouse school, but he will likely get the starters net since (from the same twitter account) Penn's starting goalie is also going to the transfer portal

The Big 10 is a pretty strong conference. Sergeev needs a good showing after last season's setbacks.

Funny, Ethan Haider has turned pro, so UConn has lost both of their goalies

He was a senior, so he was done either way, same as their third-stringer. Right now, it doesn't look like they have any goalies committed for next season.
I wonder if Sergeev was annoyed when they brought in Haider last year, meaning he had to split the net again this season?

Does Boltmann stay on the Flames Reserve List for another year? His rights were set to expire in August.

Down to the Frozen Four. Boston College, BU, Denver and Michigan.
No current Flames draft pick playing. Only future Flames like Celebrini and Buium are still in it.

It depends on how close he was to graduation. Josh Nodler's rights lapsed because he was past a certain threshold, despite him remaining NCAA eligible.
