Exactly, you play at their ground, you bring some big names, they sell a crapload of tickets and it brings in some revenue for them before the transfer window closes.

Pfft. Half of the CP soccer board could score in the Leagues Cup. Let's see what he can do when games really matter.

It’s not even about the football at this point.
LeBron was there. The Kardashians. Etc.
This is a golden goose and cash cow for Inter Miami and MLS. His name alone is going to sellout major stadiums across the land. I could see MLS becoming a top 10 league globally within a really short time frame.
The Beckham stuff was huge in 2007. This is something totally different. Who knows, maybe he gives his ol pal Mbappe a call since he’s unemployed…

After missing out on Lionel Messi, Saudi team Al Hilal made a record €300 million ($332m) bid for Kylian Mbappé on Monday, which could see the France striker join Cristiano Ronaldo in the oil-rich kingdom.

Looks like Sadio Mane to Al-Nassr and Riyadh Mahrez to Al Ahli.
The drain continues.

Juve banned and Chelsea fined.
Quote:
Juventus were removed from European competition next season and Chelsea were fined €10 million ($11m) in separate UEFA rulings over financial rules breaches on Friday.
The expulsion of Juventus from the third-tier Europa Conference League was expected because of a false accounting case that already saw the two-time European champions deducted 10 points in Serie A. That penalty dropped Juventus out of Champions League qualification places.

Although I know I've said it before, but Barca mortgaged their future and are going to be in a ton of trouble down the road, but I think Juve is going to be the first major club to either go insolvent or sell their souls to the Saudis.
No CL money this season means they are going to be in serious financial trouble.

One would think. In watching Chelsea after Abramovich I would've expected the same. Instead, they somehow were allowed to just ignore that pesky little $1.5b debt they had though. Then Boehly (who has plenty of Saudi ties) rolls in and just buys anyone and everyone for crazy deals. This time it's going to catch up, right? Well, the Saudis come in and buy guys to get them out of jail again. It's just preposterous.
So, sure. Juventus should be in trouble. Somehow though, shady dealings will find a way!
And really, that scenario is weird. Like they nailed Juventus and I guess that was obvious. But they did these deals with other teams, and all those clubs were in the up and up, completely unaware? I'll admit, I didn't really follow this, but that doesn't seem like it makes any sense.

Juventus is Publicly Traded on the Italian Stock Exchange whereas the other clubs are Privately held.

Both Milan's and Juve have been walking the line of financial hardship the last 10-20 years given their ownership structures and shady business practices on and off the field.
In the past, like other overspending Euro clubs, they've just had enough officials from government/Serie A and UEFA in their pocket to look the other way or help others look the other way, but clearly they missed a few bribes to the wrong people this past year.

Saint-Maximin going to Al-Ahli at 26 is ridiculous.
I dont know what the money is, but this is a farce.
