I believe the count is 6 now? Two wieners in that last scene.

The pacing in ep 3 was a bit slow. For example, the jinn scene was important as it continues to build the narrative, but it could have been cut a bit better IMHO, the cab part was excellent and so was the climax, but the 'artsy' bit in the middle dragged.
Sense 8 suffers from the same malaise. It's beautiful but it doesn't serve the story pacing.
Having said that, I'm really enjoying it, it's difficult material and they are doing a great job with it. The scene with Shadow and the house was beautifully done, just the right tone.

Episode 4 was fantastic. Completely addresses some of the big issues I had with the first quarter of the book, and fleshes out the story much more than existed.
Kudos to the writers for that one!

I agree. I thought, "Finally! Now I understand these characters so much better!"
Now we can move forward with the plot and hopefully see some cool stuff.

I read a bit online that the episode had mixed reviews, but I also really liked it. I like Emily Browning and I thought her portrayal was great. Really helps to get a bit more background on who Laura was/is.
I've been enjoying the show more than my tempered expectations were expecting. I'm a little worried that it isn't catching a hype wave...oh...just searched and yes, it has been picked up for season 2. That's good.

Goddam it....that was such an exceptional episode. Perfect casting choice for Mr. World.
The themes presented in this episode are exceptional. I love the juxtaposition between old and new systems of worship, along with a simple conflict in style of how each faction goes about their affairs.
The scenes between Laura and Mad Sweeney were awesome as well. Pablo is so good at comic relief, even if it is on the dark side.
"You're an @ss****, dead wife."
Priceless.
Still hoping for a little faster pacing. My wife finds each scene to be extremely long with not much to break it up, and I don't disagree with her. But, like I said earlier, having a literary pace means that it won't lend itself well to a traditional TV audience, but hopefully people stick with it.
I find this show utterly fascinating.

Oh, I almost forgot. Seeing Gillian Anderson as David Bowie circa Life on Mars, speaking with context perfect Bowie lyric quotes was a feat of exceptional TV writing. As a major Bowie fan, I was giddy in that scene.

Clearly I'm the only one who wants to talk about this show, but so be it.
The episode wasn't the best, but there was another amazing set of exchanges between Laura Moon and Mad Sweeney. Quote of the year to date from Mad Sweeney: "Do you know why men love anal sex? Because women hate it." Wow.

I'm enjoying how they're fleshing out the story vs the book, I was wondering how they'd stretch this out into a few seasons. I'm definitely happy with it so far.

Personally I thought Ep 7 was my favourite. Interesting spot to end season 1.

Yup, the finale (episode 8 was it not?) was really good. Kristin Chenoweth did a great job, and we finally got to see a glimpse of Wednesday's power.
I want to see more of Anansi in season 2. "Anger gets #### done." Love that character.

And Czernobog! Episode was alright, I'm hoping season two comes sooner rather than later. 8 quick episodes and a lot of ground to cover. Really interested in some of the side stories too, how they incorporate Bilqis into what looks to be a mole, house on the rock, good things ahead I think. Good things ahead.

Disagree with the general sentiment here...
I thought the season was generally quite boring, and is really suffering from their trying to stretch one book into multiple seasons. None of the back stories for the old gods, nor Wednesday's efforts to recruit them, got me very interested in their characters, and both Shadow and Laura Moon are dull and monotonous.
Give me Wednesday and Mad Sweeney on a buddy trip, in actual war with Mr. World, and you might have something.
