Today's was the last one. Both teams are now on their way home.

Not surprised. Beijing is just much more into hockey than Shanghai. Also, put together a 7:30PM game out in a part of the city that takes some time to reach with ####ty, rainy weather and even most hockey fans in Shanghai would feel they have better things to do. Unless they're Canucks fans, who never have anything worth doing. I feel the slightest tinge of regret for having missed an opportunity to watch NHL hockey in a situation in which it probably would have only cost me $20 from scalpers, but at the same time I don't think it would have been better than other things I had to do.

If the Flames came though, that would be a different story. The Flames need to draft a Chinese player.

Apparently, this is the building where the Olympic hockey tournament will be held. Clearly, hockey was an afterthought in the design (it was the main basketball venue in 2008).

I wonder how the sightlines are? It doesn't seem like they'd be very good. It seems similar to the Barclays Center or the old arena in Phoenix with some seats having no view of part of the rink, but unlike those arenas, it's not just behind one net, but the whole building.

It reminds me of the Salt Lake Games, where they shoe-horned an arena into the Delta Center for short track and figure skating. I remember one skater commenting that it felt like skating at the bottom of a canyon because the crowd was so far away.
