Cause that'll work out well. Predictable back passes never backfire.

Makes me think of all the Flames team success when Iggy and Tangs idea of cycling the puck was back passing the puck just over the blue line on almost every rush.

Quick - play Bollig with Johnny and Monahan. Pass backs possible every time.

Looks like they've lost Hendricks for a while.

Well at least Oiler fans will have another excuse for failure.

On the topic of Paul Ryan, I intended to write a post on him but Krug man did it better;

Sounds like the Edmonton media is preparing the fan base for Yakupov on waivers. Lots of talk about it.

I've been too busy to follow, but any talk of how Larsson is doing in Edm?

How about Hall in NJ so far?

Yikes, has it really come to that?

We all know he'll never justify his draft selection, but surely in the right circumstances this kid could salvage his NHL career. If I'm a GM with poor depth on the right side (maybe even our GM) I'd definitely take a chance with such low-risk cost.

Someone would take Yakupov for sure, right?

I would have no problem with the Flames claiming him. He's got good underlying numbers, but he's got to learn to put a full effort in. A breath of fresh air with an organization that cares could turn him around.

Plus, let's face it, throw him on a line with possession wizards like Backlund and Frolik and he could be a decent add.

I'm not, even though Hendricks is a dirt bag cheap shot artist, I'm not.

But for some reason over the last couple of years, Oiler fans have worn their teams injuries like the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Yeah, I'd think so. That first overall pedigree will get you several more chances then it should. What a bust though. Edmonton drafted an entire first line at 1st overall three years in a row. The left wing is gone, the right wing might be on waivers. The center remain, and he's good, but not that dominating force down the middle one dreams about when you're drafting it that position.

As a pedant, I must say: Hall was LW, no? And Yak is RW?

I wonder if Calgary would benefit from picking up Yakupov given some holes they have on wing. He has a shot and some speed. he doesn't seem lazy - just ill-tutored. And maybe not too bright. Can a poor hockey IQ benefit from being with a high IQ like Gaudreau or does he drag the high IQ down.

Wouldn't mind if the Flames took at shot at him for no acquisition cost, but his 2.5 cap hit is steep.

How does waiver wire picking order work right now, last year's reverse standings?
