Yum Yum Chicken in Southwood was fantastic.

just found out that Myung Ga Korean restaurant in West Springs has converted to a full on chicken joint called Chicken Family. the chicken flavor options are greatly expanded and there's rice bowls, but sadly no more traditional dishes like dolsot bibimbap.

between them and Fritou I think west side is pretty well taken care of. there's still even a KFC for the degenerates out there.

I've had KTown twice and was blown away both times.

We just discovered that Kinjo's does fried chicken now (at least the one in Dalhousie Station). You get a large boneless piece of fried chicken for $1/piece (for takeout, $1.50 each for dine in). Each piece is sizeable - like a typical piece of fried chicken.

The chicken is juicy and not processed but deboned. No sauce - there is a seasoning that might be a bit too gingery for some. We ordered 20 pieces for a family outing and everyone commented on how good it was as well as the value.

We had the Kinjo take out chicken about a month ago and while it was great value I really didn't enjoy it. The was something unpleasant with the seasoning/flavour. I don't think it was the ginger but something else that was off-putting for me.

We had I M Chicken tonight and that stuff was really good. Sauces were great and chicken was juicy and extremely crunchy.

I had some of the fried chicken from the North Hill Kinjo location based on positive word of mouth. Props to them for using thighs, however it was terrible. It was red on the inside like it was undercooked or possibly using bloody parts. Gave me the distinct impression of being low quality meat. That and it was underseasoned, with not much of a crisp.

Threw it out pretty much uneaten.

The downside is you have to go to Edmonton to get it.
If you are there though, it's worth the visit for sure.
Another excellent place in Edmonton is Northern Chicken. Nashville hot chicken type place (also really good mac and cheese).

Has anyone tried any of the bb.q chicken locations? Turns out they’re a k-fried chicken chain.

Not bad for the price. I wouldn't say it's the best, but it is also a little cheaper than a lot of other Korean chicken places. It's fair value IMO, comparatively speaking. Restaurants in general are a waste of money these days, but it's not the worst.
