I'm sorry, are you trying to suggest that their loss to Colorado had something to do with the fact that they had a better record against the East than the West?

No wonder you have been away for a while - it must have taken some time to dream up this angle.

Thanks for the tip, dude.

You are trying to make a point out of nothing. There is no significant difference between the way the East plays and the way the West plays. And their record with the West so far is simply a statistical oddity. The sample size is way too small to be telling us anything.

Also...

Anaheim game - they dominated and got goalied

Nashville game - deserved to win, but the goalposts disagreed

Dallas game - they were the better team but didn't get the bounces

Winnipeg - they dominated, but got goalied

Overall record against the West so far: 2-3-3

Oh no! Let's jump off a bridge, because - clearly - the Flames don't know how to play against this random group of Western teams that they have played so far!

2-3 in games decided playoff style.. wins Chicago-LA Losses SJ - Winnipeg and Edmonton.

Last year Edmonton likely would have won 3 shoot out games against Winnipeg and gone on to play TB in the finals.

The theory that the East games are the same as the West games likely has more validity.
Go wait in the car.

We swept the season series with the 2019 Avs. Weren't we "ready" for what we were going to face?

The postseason is not the same as the regular season. Our division record, conference record, record vs the mcdavids, overtime record.. none of this matters as long as we're in as a team that won more of its regulations than it lost. And that only because it's the mark of a good team for the ruleset of the playoffs.

Just a matter of frequency (less games against the West) and puck luck to this point. Honestly I can't see anyone actually biting on the theory that Calgary's record is somewhat diminished because of more games out East. Silly.

And interesting enough 7 of the team's worst 8 games this season in terms of 5 on 5 xGF% have come against East team.

Four of their top 5 games in the same metric have come against West teams.

Nothing to see here folks.

Agreed. Fully deserving of their record. We are barely a quarter way into the season so seems silly to argue about who “deserves” their record. We have almost 60 games to go where that can be sorted out.

Thanks, as always, Bingo! The start of this season has been so exciting and fun. Such a breath of fresh air from what we’ve seen in the recent past. I hope everyone here is enjoying the ride!
