Dylan Strome is practicing on the 5th line in Chicago. A player who multiple teams should be willing to take a chance on.

Unless they’ve watched him play. He has Tkachuks feet with Brouwers GAF.

I think Strome works okay when he plays with talented wingers. A lot of teams like Ottawa, Seattle, Columbus, Detroit etc should have some interest

I think it's the opposite. Dylan Strome would work on a team that's doing well and he has good players around him. Put him on a bad team and his GAF meter goes to zero like Scroopy Noopers said. He's also pretty slow.

I don’t think he will get the rope on a good team. A bad team can give him more opportunity to sink/swim. If he struggles on a good team he will be in the same spot he is with the Hawks who are at least trying to be a good team

I agree he won't get the rope on a good team. But he always struck me as a player that when things don't go his way he loses interest. Not a great attitude and he needs to weed that out of his game. He gave up in Arizona and looks like he's doing the same in Chicago, I'd be wary as a bottom feeder of acquiring him.

He would have never been considered to be as high of a draft pick as he was, had he not been on a team with McDavid.

I agree with what you are saying however he is on the last year of his contract (3M AAV) before he becomes an RFA so it is minimal risk. If Chicago was willing to trade him for a mid round pick, I think a team with cap space could bite especially if Chicago picked up some of his salary.
He put up 57 points 3 years ago and 38 points in 58 games 2 years ago. Even last year was on a 35 point pace over an 82 game season. Definitely has flaws but with the right players, I think he is worth a shot due to the expiring contract after this season.

I actually disagree with you here. Strome was a legitimately amazing junior player in his own right. He just couldn’t develop his skating enough at the next level.
After McDavid left Erie Strome played 91 games and scored 186 points. You don’t do that without being extremely talented.

…. With Debrincat.
I don’t know, I saw him play a few times live (pre-draft) and the fact he was drafted 3 OA has always blown me away. He’s just a shooter.

Marek interviewed Keith Tkachuk today, tried to get him to admit to some sort of philosophy of "play in Canada and then come home" with his boys, but Keith wouldn't bite, didn't agree says everything happens for a reason and they are where they should be... FWIW.

I've heard some people compare Strome to Monahan. I haven't seen him enough to say if that is true, but it if that is true, it makes me feel kind of meh about him.

Curse of the 3OA: Strome, Galchenyuk, Drouin, PLD, Gudbranson, sort of Bogosian (not bad but not Pietrangelo).

Fits perfectly with Monahan
Mangi and Dube are too fast for him

Mangiapane is not faster than Lindholm or Gaudreau and they worked fine with Monahan.
And that line overall has been doing well. Monahan has been retrieving the pucks and putting it to the stick of the other two. They haven’t clicked yet for a lot of goals but it’s been two games. Let them try and get some chemistry. Sometimes it takes a while.

NRD just uploaded the first episode of his new Cold Stove Podcast. First named Anaheim and Calgary as interested teams in Eichel. Said that Anaheim was squarely in the middle of it and is probably the favourite at this point, then mentioned Calgary in the conversation as well. Said he doesn’t know how Eichel would feel about going to Calgary, but it’s a moot point as he has no say. Said that an Anaheim deal would have to start with Drysdale, but doesn’t know if Anaheim would be willing to do it. Also says Comtois has fallen out of favour with Anaheim’s front office and would be involved. Mentions Henrique as a potential cap dump. Speculates about Gibson also being in the deal.
Minnesota has been in, out, in, and out. Also listed Vegas, Detroit, SJ, and Montreal. A lot of teams are in the mix. Ponders if Vegas is worried about completely depleting their prospect pool more than they have, hence why they are unwilling to include Krebs and maybe Hague. Doesn’t think the fit is there for NYR.

I really really want to know what the ask of Calgary is.
Like what is the package that gets the deal done tomorrow from Buffalo's side of things.
Edit: Also just based on hearing his voice for the first time I feel like NRD has to be a former player for sure.

Wasn't the rumored ask from CGY for Eichel
Monahan, a 1st, a 2nd, Zary and one of Dube/Mangiapane?

Not from any reputable source.
The only legit source who has commented on any rumoured return was Leslie, and all he said was something along the lines of “I’ve seen the ask, and I wouldn’t pay it”.
