I don't have the original anymore because I had it for my Tandy computer. As you can imagine, I don't have that thing kicking around anymore. For you young'uns, Tandy was run on DOS. This was before Windows 3. However I think I have downloaded this game to run of of DOS-Box.

I don't have Sim City 2000 anymore either. I think I had the Playstation version and I sold a lot of my old PlayStation games.

I still have 3000 and 4, so I think I'll load one of those up on my new PC and give it a whirl this weekend.

This thread has given me a hankerin' to play some Sim City.

Anyone know of a place where I can buy any of the older SimCities?

I had a copy of Classic on floppy for a long time but I have misplaced it and the only other thing I can find is SimCity 4 on Steam. I vaguely recall a site that you could buy older games, but I cannot seem to locate it anymore.

You can buy 2000 here: http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/simci...pecial_edition

I think you can buy some on Origin.

I always thought the arcologies were a neat touch in SC2000. They may have been fantastical but they were based on some thinking going around at the time on how cities could deal with more people in the future.

I like SC3K, but it did start to chug on my machine as the city got larger. I still have my CD's and should really try to fire it up again and play.

SC2000 was definitely one of my top five games of all-time. I also had the urban renewal kit and designed a whole bunch of my own isometric pixel buildings... wish I still had them. I even thought the manual was brilliant, with a series of essays on urban planning in it.

I still play SC4, SC5 would be more than awesome.

some of those screen shots look a bit to fantasy for me, but I still have hope.

I downloaded the original SimCity over the weekend. Ah, the memories. But a quick 30 minute session is all that I could handle anymore. Knowing about all the other features in 2000 and 3000 made the original seem way too simple. I'm going to have to dig out my disks for 2000 or 3000 (whichever I have) and re-play those ones.

It makes me sad that this wont be out till next year.

Now all they need to do is develop a new version of SimTower, then my life would be complete.

I like the I guess you call it multiplayer component as well.

Where you can send fire trucks to help.

So the question is, if the army or navy or airforce setsup in your city can you send airstrikes, naval bombardment or invasions against other cities?

Cause it would be cool if you could send a tank column up main street Sims ville.

16-player multiplayer.....Me thinks there will have to be a CP region

given there's so many Origin haters here, and that it will almost certainly be required to even play Sim City V, that may be tricky
