I went on the online chat and asked about this one. Essentially Shaw will give you another phone number that when people call it, will connect through to your home and it will ring differently than when someone calls your primary phone number.

Ideally used for a kids line or fax machine.

^ Well I signed up for Shaw Friends - can't see a downside. I'm not sure that I really need anything that they're offering at the moment, but I appreciate the initiative. Thanks for posting that link, woob!

I think that Shaw has taken a beating lately. The UBB issue lost them a lot of goodwill and probably more than a few customers, and Telus has been pretty aggressive with their product offerings as of late. I think that they might have realized that it is cheaper to keep a customer than it is to gain a new one... Or maybe not.

I had the same experience this fall. I get consistently faster speeds on BB50, either directly wired or wireless. I'm going to try BB100 again next fall.
