What a stupid way to get injured. Why would this guy fight Ovi? I know he's not known as a fighter or anything but the guy is friggin' huge.

Svechnikov is the one who started it, that's not Ovi's fault at all. If you're fighting someone you can't take it easy on them just because they're smaller or whatever, or else you might be the one that ends up unconscious on the ice.

Pierre is such an embarrassment to the game. Don't yell at the team's trainer, you absolute tool. They're a professional organization. They've got it.

I just noticed Mrazek patting a clearly concussed Svechnikov on the head as he's escorted off the ice. Genius.

Kyperos was completely correct during the segment. Kid should have known better than to get in the face of a player like that. Good for him to try and step in and stir it up. But as I’ve always told others in hockey, if you don’t know how to fight, it’s best to stay away from one on the ice. Ovie isn’t even a pugilist but is still a big dude.

Burke was hilarious with his comment.

Hopefully the kid will be ok. But it’s a part of the game. Just pick your opponent/spot better next time.

Knocking someone out is not something to be proud of.

You know that is the whole purpose of the fight, right?

Of course not, but Ovi shouldn't be blamed for this either. Kid challenged him to a fight and this is how fights end sometimes.

I agree, but knocking out a sumbitch that picks a fight with a man twice his age, size, and mettle? It's not pride, but it's definitely deserved.

As mentioned if you can’t fight, it’s best not to engage. It’s the kids fault for trying. Good heart but the brains should have taken over in this case.

Disagree . Ovi was taunting the kid into a fight. The kid didn't even get his gloves off. Ovi got the jump on the kid and he started it .

Big man ovi going after him.

Would feel differently if they squared up but Ovi definitely is not honerable here.

I disagree. Kypreos gave a good take on the fight during the intermission. The kid had time to change his mind. The kid nodded at Ovi and that is when the gloves came off. Some lessons are tough to learn.

There was most certainly a nod from Svech. Anytime someone does that in hockey it’s an invitation to dance.
