Default General 2020 Paralymic Games Thread (Aug 24 to Sept 5)

I admit i haven't watched much Paralymics ever but with streaming options now I will try to watch more. It's too bad on CBC the coverage isn't even a fraction of the regular Olympics.

I watched a bit of Wheelchair Rugby last night and it's like bumper cars. 4 on 4 and it's really hard to stop another team from scoring so stops are really important. Something ironic? New Zealand are really bad at this.

The CBC streams kept cutting out on me last night, but I watched a bit of Women's Basketball and Men's Goalball. Basketball was impressive seeing the players putting their wheelchairs into tight turns to get around players. Goalball was something I've never seen before and it's probably way harder than it looks.

I love the track and field races with wheelchairs because they look like dragsters. In terms of difficulty in Track and Field, the vision impaired long jumpers must have it really tough. They need a spotter to basically do a "sonar" sound to let them know how close to the jump line they're at.
