I'll never get over Phillip Seymour Hoffman in the movie Happiness.

Don't watch that movie.

Bump.

It's fun trying to find a run of five good movies, let alone great ones, but there was a solid go in the 1980s from Corey Feldman:

Goonies: 1985
Stand By Me: 1986
The Lost Boys: 1987
License to Drive: 1988
The Burbs: 1989

Danny Devito had a solid go in the late uos/ early90s:

Ruthless People: 1986
Tin Men: 1987
Twins: 1988
War of the Roses: 1989
Other Peoples' Moey: 1991
Batman Returns: 1992

I also learned that Triplets is in post production. Starrting DeVito, Schwarzenegger, Eddie Murphy, and Tracey Morgan.

Has to be the start of another solid 5, am I right?

you have a lose definition of good movies, I think.

I wouldn't call The Burbs a good movie, and License to Drive? seriously?

I can't comment on DeVito's films as I didn't see the last 4 on your list. (yes, including twins)

The first three on that list are solid movies, for what they are of course. Feldman wasn't winning any Oscars, but the stories and characters were great. The other 2 are pretty terrible if you watch them now, but I remember liking them when I was a kid.

Kind of OT and a little random, but looking back at Keanu Reeves career, I always enjoyed his films. Again, he isn't going to win a lot of awards and such, but it goes to show that there is more to being good than just technical acting. After Bill and Ted came out, if someone told me back then that Keanu Reeves would become one of the highest (maybe the highest) grossing action film star in Hollywood, I would have thought they were nuts.

Speed, The Matrix, and John Wick became huge franchises because of him. Point Break was also a really fun action movie back in the day.

You are correct. But also, I liked those films when I was younger, and there were far less movies to see than nowadays. A little nostalgia makes everything seem better than it probably was.

I love the Goonies and always will.

Lost Boys is a guilty pleasure for me. Sort of like Roadhouse.
loved it at the time, very dated and didn't age well, but a fun watch every time.
