Kerins is turning on beast mode and I love the growth in his game! Ciona is an intriguing prospect to me as well, reminds me of a slightly more chill Pospisil.

I have very low expectations for Ciona, but at the very least, it's fun to track is progress. And it looks like he has made progress.

With regards to Jack Beck. Some internet digging mentions a bruised kidney with expectations of return to play at the end of January

Stankoven is really crushing the WHL this year. Had 13 points in 3 games over the weekend.
We will regret not taking this kid with our second. I am still quite bitter about it.

Maybe. Sven Baertschi torched the WHL and turned into nothing. Ryan O’Reilly was < PPG player in the OHL and turned into an elite NHLer. It really is a crapshoot with most of these guys, and is far from a linear process. I find it hard to get invested in prospects as much these days because of this.

Baertschi's career points per 60 minutes played in the NHL is actually quite good. Something you'd expect for a second line player.
The injuries derailed him quite a bit. But in that sense he's not comparable to Stankoven at all.
As far as projecting offensive production, guys like O'Reilly are definitely the exception and not the norm.

Francis with only 24 points in 19 games as a 20 year old is pretty concerning.
Anybody know what the deal is? He should be tearing junior to shreds.

The story was that Francis has not been getting top-line/PP1 time. I believe it may be due to the time he missed with an injury at the start of the season-they put together a top line in his stead that’s been rolling. When William Dufour has been out of the lineup, Francis has been inserted on that line and his production has gone up. That was the story, at least earlier in the season. I don’t think it’s anything to be concerned about.

Do you think it was a mistake to send Francis and Kuznestov back to junior instead of letting them play in the AHL and learn to be pros? Don't seem to see the growth or success you'd be hoping for
