Maybe there's another Troy Ward out there? An infamous Troy Ward notorious for serial killing and Troy G. Ward wants to differentiate himself from him.

Food for thought.
I googled Troy Ward and all the top results are actually him, surprising IMO considering how common his name likely is. I have a feeling the G in his name may be a family name that is passed along, or shared with someone he really admires.

Or he thinks he is gangsta.

Horak's 3/4 in shootouts so far this season. Maybe the Flames have a solid shootout artist now.

Highlights for those like myself that missed the game:

Very solid game for Brust. He seems so relaxed and composed out there. I would love to see him compete for the back up job if the season does start.

I enjoyed Horaks game last night. Overall i found the game pretty hard to watch. Not the heats best outing but a win nontheless.

Love the way Brodie plays. He will be a definite lock when and if the NHL season start.
Was not overly impressed with Lamb. There were a few plays where he just blindly passed the puck to the middle of the ice which was picke up by opposition.

Edit: prediction after the news.

Didn't see/hear anything about Sven. Is he still injured? Any word on his status?

As far as I know they are being extra cautious and we shouldn't expect anything until after the new year.

I agree. This may seem really weird, but one of the reasons I'm hoping to have Brust as backup is because of his spectacular kookiness. Much like Noodles before him, there is something to be said about a goalie that embodies the stereotype of "crazy netminder" that I just love.

edit:

Also, what's the big deal if the guy goes by Troy G. Ward? It's got nice ring to it, IMO.

I don't think it is a big deal but it is odd as people normally don't go by their middle initial when using their full name.

It sounds stupid so I was wondering if it was something odd Kerr was doing or something commonly used by others.

No big deal just seems stupid to have the G in there.

Completely agree. I hope the NHL considers this.

On a separate note: happy to see Kolanos score and then win it in the SO, but other than that, I thought his game was horrific. His feet weren't moving, he was a always on the perimeter, and when the puck came to him, he looked like he couldn't dump it to someone else fast enough (usually blind).

Hopefully the goal gives him a but of confidence and he gets his game back.

Not a great game for the Heat - a LOT of giveaways in their own end, and as a result, a lot of people standing around and not moving their feet - but a win is a win. And there have been a lot of games this year they deserved to win but lost in OT or SO, so it balances out.

That is the exact reason why he hasn't been an NHL goaltender previously, and why he won't be moving forward. He does not have an NHL playstyle. I can distinctly remember two or three opportunities the Stars received last night at the expense of Brust being overly aggressive when challenging the shooter. Those are risks that he simply could not take at the NHL level because they would end up in the back of the net.

Personally, I would cringe seeing Barry Brust play for the Flames.

When moon doesn't have any Flames to complain about he moves on to complaining about the name of the minor league coach

Brodie's confidence is big right now. All kind of composure from him I love watching him play when he's on like that, just calm, cool and collect.

Yeah, I thought he played great but Subban got on him a little for not rushing the puck enough. He wasn't being nasty about it but I thought they probably faced each other in the OHL a bit and had some mutual respect.
