Transmission and regulatory fees would be the same as Enmax, and the administration fee is $1 less per service (at $5.99), though it's higher than the $3.50/month of the other ATCO plans.

It's only valid for a three-year bundle.

It is a good price for electricity. I'm tempted by the offer but we an average of 20gj of gas per month and 500-600 kwh. It seems like sticking with floating gas rates is the best for me right now.

I'm on easymax with enmax and like it. Floating gas, locked in at the moment on electricity. Can change both, once a month.

Bumping again, had an offer from Enmax for a 3 year fixed electric at 5.99c/kWh on a 3 year plan. Gas stays floating. Is that worth it?

I took the offer, cheaper rate then the other offerings they had.

I'd take the 3 year fixed @ 5.99. I was only getting 3 years @ 6.39 on the website and had to call in to get the 5.99 offer.
I got the impression anyone who's been with Enmax for a while can call in and get that offer as he called it their "loyalty program" as opposed to Easymax.

Can confirm. I did the exact same thing. Went fixed for electricity and floating gas.

Aren’t enmax’s admin fees a bit higher than atco’s?

Never mind. Answered my own question reading the top post. About $5 higher total for enmax.

3 year lock in plan doesn't save much or might end up being more. Up to current day 13 month average electricity has been 6.66¢ gas $3.29/GJ. With Enmax if you select the fixed NG rate there is a $1 charge for every GJ so you end up more than the 13 month average.
What am I missing.

If you still have easy max rewards if $100 per year make sure you are factoring losing them into any calculation. The new plans I see are 6 cents and $100 sign up bonus over 3 years so only $33 per year vs $100.

Fixed gas and floating electricity? You're doing it backwards.

Got pounded on electricity as well so looked into it deeper and discovered two things:
1. I would have been about even if I had switched to locked in rates. Using the current price for contracting I looked back at the floating rate for the year and one month of high prices cancelled out 11 months of lower. It was pretty much a wash.
2. Two years in a row Enmax prices have been extremely high in February. Two years in a row only two months in the entire year were estimated usage vs. an actual meter reading. Those two months just happened to be February. Two years in a row March usage was way lower than normal when the meter reading caught up. Coincidence? That pi$$es me off. Two months or estimated usage at super high prices followed by two months of very low usage back at 'normal' rates.

I presumed the estimates were because of the cold snap. I looked at my meter read dates, and they matched up to that.

Likely, I wouldn't argue that. It bothers me that they way overestimated my usage that month, proven by the miniscule usage in the next cycle.

Just wanted to bump this thread, apparently my energy with Direct Energy is up in 2 months. Didn’t even know I had one.
Should I just re-sign with them or doesn’t anyone have suggestions for other suppliers that may have some form of incentives for the Chestermere area ? I literally have zero clue when it comes to energy costs and contracts.

I just stick with Enmax as I'm grandfathered in with the EasyMax rewards ($100 a year) and lower site fees, but mostly because Im lazy and can't be bothered to call around all the time to maximize incentives. Same with Shaw TV/Internet, as long as Im getting a fair price and not gouged, I'm past the age of flipping providers every year or two to get best credits/deals.
That said, I did just finally lock into 6c/kWh and $4.09/GJ for 5 years with Enmax last month. There were some big spikes in energy cost (15-20c / kWh) over the summer, and I figure those small spikes cost me more than the "markup" on the fixed costs when the prices are below that.
