Forsberg is a highlight real specialist and therefore people are overrating him.
I like the player but on no planet do you trade Tkachuk for him 1 for 1.

Respectfully, I think my point still stands. Both teams are below average offensively. In 2019/20, Nashville was 17th in GF, while CGY was 20th-but Nashville's D contributed more to their offence than our D did to ours. This year, both team's D numbers look identical-but CGY is 20th overall, while NSH is 27th in GF.
Look at their stats sheet at their forwards point totals. Arvidsson, Granlund, Johansen, Duchene-even a guy like Kunin. They all are having the life choked out of them playing for Hynes, except for Forsberg, who is over a ppg. Get Forsberg away from Hynes and that team, you've got a superstar.

Wilson is a huge asset for Washington, and he would be scary(er?) playing for Sutter. Games against Edm and Ott would be more fun. He would be mayor of Calgary in no time!

I agree, I think we need a powerforward like this with just a little less of the dirty plays...maybe Matt can become this in time.

So someone like Mantha?
He's a better overall player hands down but he's also less of a POS than Tom.

I would take Tom Wilson 10 out of 10 times over Mantha.

Yeah I would too. Just for conversation sake, would a Johnny for Tom plus Michael McMichael work as a trade base?

The only reason someone would take Wilson over Mantha is because of his POS attitude towards other players. I personally don't feel his reckless on edge play should be anywhere near this team let alone in the league. He's likely 1 suspension away from some serious consequences.

I doubt Tom Wilson is on the table, but count me in as wanting to acquire him. A 20 goal scorer that puts the fear of Hates in the opponent. I'll even take the annual suspension issues with him.
He's what hockey used to be and I miss that style of hockey.

I can see it now...Wilson hits and injures an Oilers, Sportsnet goes crazy, suspended for the season. NHL throws the book at Flames players that is a terrible idea.

No, not that the value is not there but Washington needs Tom Wilson more than another skill player.

Tkachuk has been a fan favourite since he broke into the league but he “struggles” (and still produces at a 66 point pace) for a month and now we’re running him out of town for Filip Forsberg?
Christ this fan base would suck to play for. Tkachuk struggling is still producing at a higher pace than Forsberg’s best season. Some of you guys need to take a step back and relax. Every player is going to have stretches like Tkachuk. I bet Forsberg has.
Tkachuk is still one the best players on this team and one of the last guys I’d ever consider trading off the team. A bad stretch doesn’t negate the previous 4 seasons.

This fanbase loves to whine and complain that we need more great players, but also get the pitchforks out when our best, most entertaining player is having a bad stretch.
Combine that with being named the most vulgar fanbase in the NHL and not being the best location for players to play, it's no wonder why most NHL players don't want to come here.

LOL. Yes I'm sure players definitely don't want to play here because a random word analysis of each team's subreddit was heavily skewed because the one user who makes Game Day Threads on r/calgaryflames has a shtick where he swears a lot.

Sure, that point was worth being made fun of.
But the remaining points still stand. This fanbase b****** about not having good players and needing to trade for so and so, but the moment our most entertaining player has a bad stretch, they're ready to kick him out the door. Yet the players everyone wants likely get the same treatment from their fanbase.
This team is not the most attractive destination, and there's reason why most players don't want to come here.

Oilers fans will always be the worst.
It seems they somehow still find ways to complain more about McDavid and Draisaitl than we do lol but the amount of Flames fans who want to get rid of our best players while at the same time saying we need more talent is as mind-boggling as it is funny.
