$1.25 a month for 6 months? Don't get cheaper than that. I signed up.

The hockey writers released their first round mock today and have Dylan Holloway to Calgary at 19.

The thing that I've read, that I like about Kuznetsov, is that although he is a big player his skating is his best natural skill. Not the straight ahead speed of Wallinder, but a natural strong four-way skating ability. As a defensman, he is hard to beat one on one, can make adjustments on the fly and rub someone out on the boards, at speed.
His offensive ability is average at best, but when it comes to taking pucks away, this player is very good.

My hope for big skating D men lies with Igor Chibrikov. Has been for months.

Everything I've read about him has him as a stay at home defenceman. The offensive talent (lack thereof) doesn't intrigue me at all. Comparisons to Zybnek Michalek...no thanks. Not what I'd be aiming for in the 2nd round.
Hendrix Lapierre seems like a fine pick at 19 - it seems like a homerun swing that could hit.

11 points in college as very young 1st year player actually isn't the worst IMO. He didn't turn 18 until March which made him very, very young for a first year NCAA player, probably one of the youngest players in college hockey last year. It's actually so hard to predict what he could be because only 8 d-men in the last 20 years have actually played in the NCAA as 17 year olds that were draft eligible.
Not sure I'm taking a flyer on him where the Flames pick in the second...but if you can pick up an early third then maybe he's worth a look.

If Rossi is a possibility at 8, and if Buffalo might actually be willing to move that pick in a package for Gaudreau, then I'd be all over it.

Duncan Keith was drafted out of college with 15pts in 41g. Ryan Suter had 19pts in 39g. McDonagh had 12pts in 40g in his D+1 season.
Kuznetsov's offensive output ain't bad, especially at his age.

If you can pawn Neal off and your 14th OA to AZ as part of the deal for OEL, then why wouldn't you? You get a top pairing d (let's generously call him a #2 D at this point) and get rid of one of the worst contracts in the NHL. That makes the Oilers better.

OEL doesn’t want to waive for Alberta, plus we already got rid of one of the worst contracts in the NHL

Sportsnet's final draft rankings, not sure if it's been posted
Flames take Amirov. Mavrik Bourque doesn't make the first round, Sanderson top-4.
