Even if he turned out like Matthew Tkachuck or Noah Hanifan and plays 6 sessons before asking out of town, that's far better than passing to take a lesser player who'd stay with the team forever.

The U.S. is producing as many players as anyone now if not more and it's only going to grow. So it's going to be impossible to avoid drafting Americans. If anything with the higher picks they have more financial incentive to sign early and get the ELC done with sooner.

the guys ranked around him are inter-changeable, it's not like you'd be passing him up for someone that should be drafted later

That was the same sentiment when Tkachuck was drafted. I'll take who I think is the best talent and think I'm going to get the player signed. When it burns you like it did with Fox...they still got value in a trade.

Passing on guys for signability is a Cowards game and in my world God only exists to hate Cowards.

We're at 9th and guys like Silayev and Eiserman who were both ranked top 3 not long ago aren't even runners up in these polls.

I have heard the opposite, he is an emotional guy who will call his teammates out if they screw the pooch because he wants to win so bad.

They posted a draft list from somebody (didn't catch who) on the game tonight, and it had Silayev 2nd, ahead of Demidov. And we haven't drafted him yet, at #9.

Crazy how up-for-grabs it is, after Celebrini - we could literally get any of these guys
