Dave Tippett and Playfair would be very familiar with Michael Stone.
Stone played the entirety of his career in Phoenix under those two and averaged 21:19 TOI during his last three seasons playing with those 2.
Would not surprise me at all to see him moved to Edmonton.

Stone for Pulju would be easy enough for everyone here to swallow I imagine!
Not sure why but I'm actually getting a bit excited at the (remote) possibility of RNH. I think removing him from the oil-sickness is an interesting concept.

I agree wholeheartedly on both accounts.
When I look at the Oilers roster, he is the one player that fits into the Zucker/Kadri range. The Flames just tried trading for a C and only failed because of circumstances beyond Treliving's control. I think if the Flames trade with the Oilers, RNH will be coming back.

No I was serious. He's too soft to be our #2 behind Marshmallow Monahan. I would give his line offensive zone starts though over a Backlund line. So a #2.75/#3.

Oh, okay. I'd heavily start Monahan in the offensive zone. I'd split the defensive zone starts between lines 2-4 (RNH, Backlund, and Ryan).
Over the past 3 seasons at 5 v 5, RNH is:
-96th percentile in terms of exits out of the defensive zone with possession per 60 and
-95th percentile in terms of the percentage of his defensive zone exits that are with possession.
To me, this is a player whose strength is defensive zone play. He gets the puck. He moves it out.
His linemates have, however, been complete garbage. I think you play him alongside Tkachuk or Mangiapane on the 2nd or 3rd lines, and he'll be great.

Possibly getting RNH - while made fun of here on CP - would be a great pickup. If we were looking at Zucker and Kadri, he would be the best of the options we have explored so far. Great 2nd line center, seems to be defensively responsible, and managed to success even being covered in greasy Oil. Two years left until UFA.
I can't seem Edmonton letting go of him that easily though, so I imagine a Brodie and/or Bennett package would be involved. Less likely they would be exploring Frolik/Neal/Stone.
There's only three players worth trading for on the Oilers, and Nuge is one of them. I'd be curious if there is some smoke here.

We are talking about how nice it would be to get RNH.
But apparently Oilers chatter is all about Russell heading back our way.
I have no clue why would want him with our current D corps. 4m for 2 more years too. I hope thats just wishful thinking.

Russell makes the least amount of sense perhaps out of all the trade scenarios. Where would he slot? He'd be like the 5th LHD on this team.
Gio, Hanifin, Valimaki, Kylington
What we do know is that Bennett's name keeps popping up in the media. We know Lucic/Neal have been married in trade speculation for a few months. (Thanks Friedman)
We know Treliving has tried to swap Frolik out with an equivalent and he's tried to get a 2C/3C
I just don't see him trading for another LHD

There's your problem. The oilers fans/media are clueless. I imagine especially so with no preexisting ties or leaks coming from Holland.
Russell... just no.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this is a a troll by the Edmonton sports personalities, laughing their asses off at how everyone is loosing their minds.

Do you the Oilers get anything out of offer sheeting Bennet? 3.2-3.3 1-2 Year deal

what if the TO deal TJ+Jankowski for Kadri + Brown is used for EDM trade:
TJ + Jankowski for RNH + Puljujarvi ?

That was pretty much my exact thinking, except that I put Bennett in instead of Jankowski because Mr. Stauffer made it seem like the Oilers were interested in Bennett.

To Edmonton: Brodie, Bennett, Neal ($13M in assuming Bennett signs a 1 year 2.6M deal
To Calgary: Russell, Nuge, Puljujarvi ($10M in, let Puljujarvi go back to Europe for a year and gain his confidence)
Flames would come out with less cap. They could consider trading Hamonic to the Jets for Roslivic +2nd
Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm
Tkachuk-Nuge-Roslivic
Mangipane-Backlund-Frolik (maybe trade him for a lesser cap hit bottom 6 winger)
Dube-Jankowski-Ryan
Gio-Hanifin
Valimaki-Andersson
Kylington-Russell
Stone
Rittich
Talbot
After typing it out I am not a fan.
