Thanked for one of my guiltiest of pleasures movies.
Recently check out the sequel, released last year(2 years ago?), and wow it was bad. Like unbearable. But a couple parts where you chuckle and ask yourself if that really just happened. So maybe for the B movie fans out there...
Amazon Prime has a massive collection of just outright schlock 80's films that are not B or even C movies, but D movies, that are almost a must watch for pure entertainment.
I'm tempted to start a thread reviewing some of them, if anyone is interested.

Watched Captain Fantastic tonight. It's an interesting story about a family whose death of their mother forced them to reintegrate into society after living a decade in isolation.
Watched this last night, I can’t believe I’ve never heard of it before. It was really good.
I watched The Beach again. One of my favorite movies of all time, which at the time was severely underrated. Just a coming of age movie for the student age, with great cinematography, and captured the backpack vibe of Thailand so well.

I loved the soundtrack when I was younger. That shark attack scene was disturbing as hell though.

Re-watched “Aliens” and “The Matrix” last night. Both still hold up really well.
Aliens might be my favorite action flick of all time. Right from the moment they board the drop ship, the movie launches into overdrive and doesn't let up until the very last scene when Ripley and Newt go into hypersleep. I could probably watch that movie 100 times and never get bored.
Also watched Just Mercy, and while well done, seemed familiar. Based on a true story, which was good as well. If true and if it played out like that in real life (always questionable with movies), it's maddening what happens with racism in the US. Worth the watch.
Stayed up waaaaaay too late last night watching Heat.
What a film.
Just an awesome movie. What a friggin ending. "Told you i'm never going back". Wow.
You've inspired me to watch all my favorite Michael Mann movies. Heat, Collateral, The Insider, The Last of the Mohicans, Ali and Miami Vice (don't hate!).

Just finished Collateral. The most underrated Mann movie is the Insider. Fantastic.
Another great director that's not talked about much is John Frankenheimer. With the talk of Heat, it got me thinking about Ronin. His first movie was in 1959, and he always walked the line between B movie with just a touch of high class. Kind of a slow burn action director.
