Yeah, I'm always a big fan of the retro brown look, and when I first saw his, I liked them. But I was really looking at them during the game and was thinking they're a little too light. Still cool and different, but he basically got that trendy downtown dress shoes colour..an actual retro brown would've been cooler.

I know many around here don’t like his artwork, but George Johnson writes about Rittich, Talbot, the man behind the art, Dave Gunnarsson aka DaveArt: https://www.nhl.com/flames/fans/flam.../stateoftheart

Do goalies not wear gear according to sponsorship agreements? I kind of just assumed their brand would be decided by deals they would have, but I guess maybe that's not the case.

Yes, but they’ll also want to wear the gear that they perform the best in. I’m guessing Bauer sent him a set to try and get him to switch over, but Rittich decided to go back to CCM/Lefevre. Not sure if he gets any sponsorship cash for doing so; I believe Lefevre actually has to pay the NHL in order for their logo to appear on pads (which is why you don’t see anything on Rittich’s set).

Goalies clearly decide based on dopeness in appearance. That’s it, as it should be.

Lefevre is no longer with CCM, he's out on his own now Link. While there will certainly be carryover from Lefevre design in the CCM lines for years to come, CCM equipment will no longer carry the Lefevre name.
Lefevre will have to pay the NHL if they want players using branded gear. An alternative is for players to wear unbranded gear. We have seen this most commonly in the past with spray painted sticks and at one point, there were goalies wearing unbranded Brian's gear.

They're all pretty awesome now, here is the CCM customizer for both the EFlex and the new Axis lines.
And the Bauer customizer for both the Supreme and Vapor lines.
I could and have spent hours playing with the various customizers!
