Happy with the move. He's a solid goalie who wasted the last few years in the NHL's graveyard.
As a bonus, we will see the real Rittich now that he's got some unfamiliar competition.

Shame Smiths only option was to go to said graveyard. Seems like a cool guy.

Really? Working to confirm if this is, in fact, the case.

The mediocre goalie signing story continues. Hopefully, one day we sign the right one...

I am betting that day will be later this month or in August.

So when they unveil his jersey at the presser, does he keep his number since technically Rittich isn't signed yet?

Sure sounds like they’ve planned it so this is all we can expect for the day.

I am irrationally hoping that both Talbot and Rittich wear #33 next year.

Hoping for Lehner? Or just talking about Rittich?

That's not how player numbering works.

But it's how "irrational" works.

Rittich.

I don't see how there is any avenue to add Robin Lehner. The cost will be too high, and in addition to cap issues would also create a problem at thew position for finding landing spots for everyone.

Easy fix. Just like when Gilmour went to the Leafs, he reversed his #39 to #93... Talbot can change his #33 to #33.

Yup, agree. Interesting though. Other than staying with the Isles, Lehner may run out of options.

A press conference for a back up really are you serious. Treliving are you becoming the the Greasers?
This is the lame softball media stunt Edmonton has made a habit of pulling.
Nobody from the media should show up to this press conference. Sorry Brad & Ken we much better things to cover today., this is about 100 out 100 on priority list today.
