The guy with the largest waist had a circumference of 119 inches, so a diameter of 37.9 inches. A hockey net is 48 inches wide. So you need about 10 inches of padding to cover the full net. I'd imagine there'd be a few holes you could target that they could never cover(slow, immobile), but it wouldn't leave a lot of open net.

I think the hard thing would be freezing the puck after shot attempts, but I still think there is some viability to the idea.

What about a super fat goalie and a super fat defenseman. Is a denceman allowed to be in the crease? Stack both of those guys in the net and then have four offensive players. It'd be like your short handed, but the other team would never be able to score so you should be fine.

Defenseman wouldn't be able to withstand 100mph clappers for very long. That's assuming he would have to adhere to standard equipment guidelines for skaters.
