They definitely broke out the giant flag for all the Canada games at the ACC during the 2015 World Juniors. Not a great picture but you can see this year's jerseys:

Spoiler!

No idea why so much haters for accessories on here. Red jerseys and clapping is regular season. It's playoffs and it's time to create a crazy atmosphere. I'm all for thundersticks or towels.

This old school thinking that we can just yell and clap in the the playoffs is lame. It's the same type of people that tell me to shush and stop jumping in my seat at the Dome.

Towels don't make noise.

I'm fine with thundersticks but they get in the way and don't last an entire game. The crowd was loud on Sunday night and they didn't need the help of noisemakers. That is what makes the crowd in the Dome so awesome.

Get Red. Get Loud. Very playoff like atmosphere. Very effective.

We have the C of Red. Do we need to have the towel waving, red light wearing, face painted, C of Red? No. Want to wave a red towel? Go ahead, but not everybody has to do it. The C of Red is an everybody thing, all the other extras can be done but not everybody has to jump on board.

How about we distribute colt .45 hand guns with blank rounds, every time a goal is scored everyone shoots it into the air.

Vancouver can waive the right flag all they want, because good, bad, we have guns.

It's 2022. The Flames have tried red towels since this thread existed. Twice in 2019 and this year.

Thoughts on it? Keep it? Ditch it?

TBQH I just wanna experience Thundersticks. They were around when I wasn't a fan yet (mostly 2000's). But that's just me.

I didn't see them used much in my 2nd level seats- maybe 20% usage? Probably best to move onto the next flavor-of-the-day.

Ditch it, as mentioned earlier in the thread waving a flag is a signal of surrender. Very few people in my section seemed to be waving them anyway.

Thundersticks, god no. I hated those things in '04.

Honestly, don't hand out anything. I hate to think how many Oiler fans at Game 5 took home their red Flames flag to keep as a spoil of war. (I know I did with the GS Warriors flag on my seat in Oakland when I watched the Raps win the NBA Championship.)

The Flames will continue to have those red towels, because they can milk Tim Hortons or Scotiabank for more money to put their stupid logos on there...

I think it's cool walking into the arena and seeing them draped on every seat. Definitely adds a little to the pre-game atmosphere. In-game I don't really care. I have always correlated the play-off towel thing with the Canucks.
