Bob has a .898SV% over his last three playoff years.
Goaltending like that does not win you cups. Rittich is miles better this season, let’s ride it out.
Save the 1st for something else and let’s get a backup.

The only player who I'd want Treliving dealing a 1st for is Mark Stone, and if they can re-sign him, I'd be ok with trading two 1sts.

I would be fine with and actually prefer Schenn. At least he is signed for another year.

My guess is Stone re-signs with Ottawa before the deadline along with Duchene

Hes third on my list.
Also brings a physical edge. Would play
Tkachuk-Schenn-Bennett
Frolik-Backs-Ryan

Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Bennett - Schenn - Neal
Jankowski - Ryan - Hathaway
Czarnik
I'd love to see that line-up headed into the playoffs.
I'd be happy to see the team pay a big price for Schenn with some cap-retention attached. Gives us incredible depth for this season and next (Frolik having to be moved in the off-season, which if he continues down his current path will get us a half decent return as well).

I can see Stone but from what I have heard talks between Duchene and the Sens went cold.

At this point, I would be completely uninterested in moving Bennett.
If the Flames go top heavy like I want them to, bottom six salaries under 2 mill will be at a premium.
If Bennett keeps getting 2nd line icetime he'll maybe hit 30 points, at which point maybe you look to move him.
If the flames play him where he should be, 10-12 mins a night, then he's a 20 point player looking at a 1.5-1.75 mil contract max for multiple years. Hard to find a better player not on an ELC for that kind of money.
I'd maybe be inclined to move Janko before Bennett from a perceived value + contract re-signing but I don't like the idea of moving either. Frankly, I don't like the idea of moving any bodies off the roster except to exchange salary, with the exception being Neal of course.
I might move a 1st + neal for a player just to exchange the cap hits for an expiring deal. I don't think those types of deals are out there for Neal though, I don't know if you could move him even if you attached a 1st.
If you can move neal, a couple firsts and another salary for stone and duchene, that's definitely a deal worth looking at, but I doubt ottawa is interested in that kind of salary coming back unless they are moving out bobby ryan.
Neal is a huge anchor right now.

I have question about Duchene, he didn't want to sign with Colorado, traded to Ottawa. Now doesn't want to sign with Ottawa, traded to team ??. Then doesn't want to sign with ??...on an on...

I'd prefer Stone on this team than Duchene any day of the week.

1st and second lines play 20 minutes a game, 3rd and 4th play 10 or so each (Backlund and Ryan more then the rest on spot duties)

First, your future defensive depth is gone, especially on D. Valimaki is a non starter for me. Second, who is defending the top line of the other team now that Backlund is getting 10 minutes? Duchene is adequate defensively, but not at Backlund's level.

Agreed. If there is a trade for Stone with Ottawa I'm guessing that it's our Stone going east prior to an extension announcement for their Stone. I'd love to pick up Mark as he's a perfect fit but unless he comes ridiculously cheap, we shouldn't mortgage the future for 1 run when we have multiple bullets in the chamber.
But there isn't anything wrong with dreaming either.

HNIC:
agent for Marner has said no more contract discussions until after this season
8 year deal at $9 mil AAV discussed
if Hutchinson plays another game, Leafs will face another goalie depth issue as he will have to clear waivers to be sent down again.
there is a feeling of real momentum and optimism on the NHL/NHLPA CBA discussions
players aren't looking for massive changes, just want some tweaks
Ferland is looking for Tom Wilson money.
It is a buyers market, some sellers are worried that if they don't have a difference maker they are going to be stuck with a rental they can't move

Yup, that is good to hear. I remember in 2014, it didn’t help us much with Cammalleri. But I remember high end forwards going for seconds and thirds.

I don't blame him for looking. But he has a long way to go to being a Tom Wilson level of effective. I like Ferland but he's a filler piece at best. Outside of our 4th line roundhouse of players I'm not sure that he'd be an upgrade anywhere on our roster.

There will be a few playoff teams in the east figuring they will need to match Wilson in the playoffs. If Ferland gets that opportunity and holds his own, he'll get paid in the east.
In light of freidman's comments, maybe we can go big game fishing at the deadline, but we'll need to clear some cap space to do it. Or we overpay to have salary retained.
As I look at our roster, the most likely candidates to see moved from a cap perspective are:
Smith (but I can't see Smith being a willing participant to waive his limited nmc)
Stone (already on LTIR)
Neal (but I can't see us moving Neal until at least 1 playoff year).
So as I look at it, if this really is a buyer's market this year, perhaps this is a year to overpay player wise to get salary retained in the transaction.

Smith has a limited 8 team No-Trade clause. Not that difficult to get around.

Neal is not being traded. If anything I think you can count on Neal’s continued improved play to be like adding an extra player at the deadline. Neal is here to stay for at least a couple more years.
