Default Balloon Glow this Friday night in High River

Friday, September 29 - 5:00pm - 9:00pm

Quote:
The Balloon Glow is an experience like no other and is difficult to put to words. While waiting for sunset to arrive, grab something to eat from our food vendors and take in the pre-Glow activities like the walk-in balloon, DJ, and dancers.

A half-hour before sunset, the balloon area of the field starts to buzz with activity as pilots and their crews inflate their envelopes. Once all the balloons are inflated and the go signal is given, your chance to get up close and personal to the balloons begins.

Wander under the gentle giants, feeling the heat and hearing the blasts from the flaring burners as the balloons light up against the dark sky. The sights, the sound, the heat, the crowd come together in a magical evening that will leave you eagerly anticipating to do it again next year.

Speaking of interesting shaped hot air balloons, I remember when DQ used to fly a ice cream cone shaped one in and around Calgary.

Yikes just looked it up, I didnt remember this though....

Has the balloon glow been cancelled for tonight? Website information is confusing.

Photos from the balloon Fest included with article.

Quote:
Due to inclement weather, there were only 9 balloons inflated which were only able to stay up for about 30 minutes before rain clouds blew in.

However, there were many more baskets set up that were flaring and there were even some special Star Wars characters keeping the crowd entertained.

Engulfed in flames and screaming to the ground doesn't really indicate that he died instantly now does it. I mean maybe the newscaster meant to say horrifically.

What a way to go. Burnt to death by an Ice Cream Treat.

Nobody saw that coming.

When will hot-air conveyances get their day in the sun?!?!
