I haven't watched the video, but I'll take a guess. I'd wager for 2 reasons.
1) The first time he won, he got into legal trouble with his winnings.
2)His penchant for wandering around nude has already caused several problems, I bet the last thing want is a #MeToo around him/on the show (again...ish)

Decided to 'watch' it (listen to it in background while doing other things) and I was wrong as I didn't realize it was Richard himself saying why. Here's the Coles notes:
1) Jeff hates him
2) Jeff is a liar
3) Jeff is manipulating everything
4) Jeff is playing favorites
5) Survivor can't handle him
A quick passing mention...
6) Survivor can't handle the direction his nudity should/would take the conversation, as he sees what he does as the next logical step/conversation that should happen after the #MeToo 'stuff' last season.
I have to admit, the only point he kind of has and he doesn't bring it up well, is that North America really could benefit from a discussion about uncoupling nudity and sexuality. I do doubt that Survivor is the place to have that kind of conversation, though.

Probably one of the smartest players that played the game. I still remember in the first season what really intrigued me was when everyone in the first episode was introducing themselves, and building shelter and getting water. Hatch just sat back in the tree line and watched it all unfold, and you could really feel the wheels turning. He had that game and the players figured out in a short period of time and knew how to play each and every one of them.

The preview tonight has got me hyped. Haven't been this excited about this show in 4-5 years but it's now settling in that we're finally getting all-winners. Even though I hate the Edge of Extinction twist, the gameplay and drama is going to be insane enough for me to forget about that.

Also, he withdrew from his PHD program to go on S40 and they told him he was out 2 days before leaving.
Out of the entire video, that is the crappiest thing that happened. Plus it would have been great to see him on this. Pure Master IMO.

50 days, 24 players 3+ hours a week. It’s a commitment but if you got nothing else to watch, it’s worth firing up the ol’ grey market streaming site.

Thanks for this suggestion. I've watched the first three episodes and love it. Episode three is a clinic on how to play survivor. I would highly recommend this for any survivor fan who has access to the grey areas of watching TV shows!

I haven't looked. But 2 hour premiere? Or just an hour like last season (i think)?

Well that was interesting. Would be a very hard dynamic to navigate. A lot of them struggled with the situation in general.

That was a great first episode I thought. I almost don't like the ADHD pace the game moves at now, but at the same time with 20 returning winners expect it to be a flurry out of the gate.
Really enjoyed watching Yul in this first episode, he is such an intriguing player.

Well, that was something else.
I'm already glad to see Natalie gone. I recall not liking her game at all on her season. I'm a little surprised that Sandra wasn't voted out, too. Can't believe she isn't target #1. I was amused by Rob doing damn near everything in that second immunity challenge.
The pace of the game is interesting, and I wonder if folks are going to keep up, or if some of the older players are just going to be all "Eh" now.
These first two episodes were more interesting than pretty much all of S.39...

Sandra is doing what Sandra does best, puppet master in the background making everyone dance. How she is not the first one voted out on a season of all winners I just don't get.. I know Rob and Amber are a power couple, but even combined they still only have as many wins as Sandra :P

going to treat this like any other game, even with the Island part of it. If your player comes back in the game so will you.
With that, Weitz, Yoho, jroc and calgarybornraised take their first hits with Natalie and Amber getting the boots.

I was thinking about this, and feel that Exile Island is the perfect place to nullify her game, as she works well at manipulating people, but on the Island, that doesn't matter, you are working straight for yourself (though this season seems like you can do some 'good' back in the game too).
I'm still surprised she wasn't target #1, by everyone not her.
