Obviously gotta win it. Nash and Louis did better than hoped OOT, so we need to at least keep pace.

Looking for a dominant game for the good guys with little or no rust.

Yotes are quietly 5-2-1 in their last 8. Flames can't take this one lightly and need the win. 4-0 against Arizona so Calgary has their number. Glad Flames hockey is back. Go Flames Go

Holy moly excited to watch this game. With the all star break, missing the Rangers game, only seeing a portion of the Penguins game then this bye-week it's felt like an eternity since regular Flames action has took place. Even if it's the Coyotes I'm pumped.

Amazing how 5 days can seem sooo long. Glad Flames hockey is back!

A little schedule note here. The extended breaks are almost done. The Flames have three more occasions where they have two days off between games and one more where they have 3 games off between games. Those occur before March 9th. Starting March 9th they play 16 games in 31 nights. These 16 games are played every other night! I love it! 16 games in 31 nights is like a playoff schedule. If they make it, they should be playoff ready!

Flames win tonight 3-1.

Whew, I can't believe the offseason is finally over! I'm a little underwhelmed by our lack of activity at the draft and how few FAs we signed, but I'm excited for opening night nonetheless!

#Flames return from bye tonight against Coyotes. Worth noting, other NHL squads have combined for 3-7-1 record so far in first game back.

Expecting a bit of a stinker tonight, also considering the Coyotes are playing better

Being a kind-hearted kind of guy, Our Hero offered That Darn Coyote a quick sightseeing trip. He forgot to mention the sudden stop:

Spoiler!

Well at least the bye week wasn't too damaging to the Flames playoff hopes. they still hold a lead on Vancouver etc. They're only 1 point out of a wildcard spot and with a win tonight they could be back within 5 points of the Oilers.

I think the last little win streak we went on was extremely important. Not only because we won 4 of 5, but because of who they beat. They even deserved better in the game they lost against NYR.

It has been well documented within CP that the majority of their wins came from teams below them and they had struggled against teams above them. No doubt the players were aware of this as well, so I think that last 5-game stretch was huge.

If they are able to carry that momentum through the break, I could see a little streak starting.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Doesn't look like any changes to the lineup from Calgary's last game. Hathaway, Kulak in. Bouma, Hamilton, Jokipakka out. #Flames

Wes Gilbertson @WesGilbertson
#Flames G Chad Johnson starts tonight against Coyotes.

It feels like we have played the Coyotes every other week this season.

This is a game, given the opponent, their rest and current state of mind they should throttle the other team like 6-1.

I think it'll happen.

First game back from a 1 week vacation means the guys will likely need the first period to get back from a timing perspective. Coyotes have been playing well of late, I think the Flames drop this game 4-2.
