I got pretty lucky this weekend! Needed to swing for the fence. I'll get him in Singapore for sure though
@Iron...you've been pretty consistent. But Hungary + France hurt. If I can't catch 3thirty I'm going to hate Bahrain + China...13pts total + 65pts for 3thirty.
@Kel...I can't believe it took this long for Rich + Haas to seperate. TBH, I'm not sure why Haas didnt just kick them to the curb ($$$ being the obvious driver).

Ouch, man 2 rough races for me! Some good on track action though.
As for the picks, I really think they need to be in before qualifying. The other pools I'm in are like this. It's really the start of the race, as the cars are in parc ferme, so should we. Plus it gives you a bigger window of time, I like to watch qualy before the race, but often it happens in the same day(I'm often away on weekends) so I'd not have the advantage of knowing qualy results pre-race. Ya, it does suit me better personally, but I think it also makes more sense.

Next year we will tighten things up (pick entry deadline, no picks being carried forward, etc).

My thoughts....
Picks should be locked before qualifying and probably after FP2.
I support picks being carried forward, but only for one week. Life happens and you shouldn't be out of a long season for one miss.

I agree Fuzz and DoubleK. It was brought up and I just wanted to make sure we're all on the same page.
For next year maybe a deadline of Friday midnight would be the best/easiest. Then I don't have to rely on changing time zones, looking up FP2 time etc, and checking post times. How do your other pools do it? I haven't even looked online for a tracker just use Excel sheet.
For the rest of this year, I'd suggest we keep the honour system of pre qualifying cutoff like we have been. I'll also try and make note of the cutoff time in my reminder post.

I think FantasyGP locks it just before qualy starts, same with the official F1 page. but I can see how that is a pain for you. Friday midnight would be fine for me, though I also don't see a problem if some don't get to it until Saturday, most qualy doesn't start here until mid morning at the earliest. Say friday midnight for ease, but if it is obviously posted before qualy that should be OK too.
Also, maybe worth considering if you want to switch it up next year or not have to manage a spreadsheet, FantasyGP is a really great one. First, you pick drivers and cars, then each race do podium predictions and a few other things. You can swap your teams around during the season. We could setup a league there. You can login with Google, Facebook, or make an account. Just an option for us, but I'm fine what what you are doing too.

I think it would be fun to keep it here as more of a CP thing then moving us all to a generic fantasy league. It is a lot of work for Flamesrule and for that I think we should pitch in a little extra each at the beginning of the season for a nice bottle of wine or some hookers or something.

Yeah, I should walk that back and say I'm also happy with whatever he'd like to do. Didn't mean to suggest he should do it this way even if he doesn't want to.

Ya, I didn't mean to try to force something different, just giving an option if it is to much work. But we could totally send him some hookers.

I've definitely been guilty of getting picks in a bit late. When I'm away on a big project I'll work for 4 weeks straight and not even realize what day of the week it is until early morning traffic is light and I go 'oh #### it's the weekend'.
Midnight seems like a good and fair cutoff though. I can always set a reminder
And everytime I think I'm going to build some momentum and climb up the standings I have another big swing and a miss like this weekend. Oh well, McLaren is my favourite team, and like them I'd be thrilled with a top 5 finish this year

Winner!!! Lol.
It's all good. Honestly once the sheet was built it is about 15min work every 2 weeks. I'm just worried about an excel gremlin...lol.
I'll remember to put in some deadlines for the picks when I do a reminder post...speaking of which, lets have some news!!
New 18" rims and testing...they look so much better than the ridiculous 13" wheels they have now: https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/p...cedes/4538962/
McLaren signed Hinchcliffe for their new Indy team despite Hinch being tied to Honda. I like Hinch, but goddamn does he have bad luck. I've watched about 8 Indy races this year and he's been taken out in at least 5 of them. https://www.motorsport.com/indycar/n...-2020/4526419/
Some serious auto mfg are now in F-E. I'm actually pretty keen for this next year. Porsche / Audi / Merc / Jaguar / Nissan... https://www.motorsport.com/formula-e...t-fia/4537945/
Here is the Porsche unveil: https://www.motorsport.com/formula-e...hotos/4522803/

Only in 4 races is what I saw. I haven't read much about it yet...
Schumacher is also apparently conscious and getting stem cell donations. Family is super secretive, but its all been happening in France I guess.

Crazy rumour time! Now that Haas have re-signed Grojean and Mag, leaving Hulk without a drive, Ferrari plan to drop Vettel for Hulk next season.
