The 2019 2nd may have been an autocorrect error. Should read NYI rather than NJ

Rangers view:

Tanev struggling, and Stone is doing well and was trade bait.

Stempniak is a stop gap, Reilly gives me 4/5/6 D with upside, Erne gives me a depth winger, and the draft picks are obvious.

Stempniak has a bad contract, and I would pay more for stone

This may need correcting

Edited to add, I think the 2020 NYI 1st rounder was traded a long time ago, I personally don't see that it should be a dead asset for STL and should be allowed to trade..... Just not the other 2020

That pick may cause a paper trail though

Agreed. And as soon as the 2020 1st is 'tradeable' in the system than NYi should send it to retire the condition.

I do have another first round pick in 2019 i could move instead if we want to halt the movement of the NYI pick

-2 firsts
-2 seconds
-NHL playing prospect (Reilly)
-Close NHL ready prospect (Erne)
-Playable NHLer with 1 year to eat on a contract with a rebuilding team.

Honestly I felt I was overpaying a bit just to ensure it went through

I see what you’re saying, and think this deal is fine if approved, I just think the later picks won’t be of high value just due to ratings being of the season before, and people saving prospects in the ECHL.

as well as the other 2020 2nd?

I would change my vote from no to yes if that was the case, I would change it if just the 2nd was corrected. Like I said the last post I can't see punishing STL for not being able to trade that pick

The deal would be far better without Stemp. I view him having large negative value as that contract next year is going to be a real problem at 6.66 and likely a rating that is barely playable at best.

The deal would become extremely lopsided IMO IF Stempniak wasn't included. I think the package I'm moving reflects in it a price to moving Stempniaks contract.

Stone is a young stud. Tanev should re-rate better thaan his current 67.
Stemp and his contract are junk, and hurts the Rangers next year, but they're in rebuild mode.
With the 4 x top 56 picks and 2 prospects, think it's a decent return and vote yes.

I'll reject this one but only so the GMs can re-submit with the non 2020 picks. That re-submitted deal won't have to go to vote
